A snowy morning at the Log Cabin

Well this morning we hit a high of 2 degrees! I think Greg should fire up the barbecue to celebrate! ha,ha! How is the weather in your area today?

Here is the view from our deck. Sometimes I put seeds on the deck posts for the Chickadees to help themself (not counting the other 5 bird feeders we have!)

Hope my little trees make it this winter!

  2. OH Shellmo--your like us! We are lightly snowing and probably about 2 whopping degrees also. I'm outta bird seed and that is one of my chores today! I cant get enough of bird watching. It drives the cat crazy but hey--it gives em something to do.

  4. At least you have snow with your 2 degree weather. We're having sub-zero weather in Kentucky, but no snow! If it's going to be cold, I'd like to enjoy it with a little snow!

  21. Hi Shelley,
Discovered your blog via Betsy and George down in Crossville, TN....
I'm just a piece down the road, closer to Nashville.
What a lucky lady you are, living in a log house is a dream of mine, one I hope to fulfill one day, and surround it by those Great Smoky Mountains.
We have a log cabin builder here in the County, they seem to be very popular, I wish I could help represent them, but they are never hiring :(
Old Timer Log homes is their name.
Hope to visit you often, keep warm !

  24. Well your chickadees are adorable all fat and cuddly looking! You feed them well! We were just wondering how you get such gorgeous bird pictures - if you have feeders up etc..
Your little trees are darling too.
Our big freeze and snow storm is long gone and now we're just really foggy around here.

  25. I always enjoy your birdie pictures! The little "woody" is especially cute!

We are back in the 60's again today, nice and sunny. While I am sure that sounds really appealing to a lot of folks, I sure do miss having an actual winter down here. Our winter is more like fall and I miss having snow and crisp cold mornings!

  26. It was 4 degrees at our cabin this morning. My neighbors water line froze and we had to use a heat gun to thaw it out.
