Something to warm you up!

lake michigan2

It is 10 degrees today in the town where my log cabin is located. Cold, right?! So I thought I would post this photo I took of Lake Michigan this past summer. Our log cabin is located on a small quiet lake which I enjoy so much (Plus that's what we could afford!) But I do love the Great Lakes of Michigan - such beautiful bodies of water. Lake Michigan is the 3rd largest Great Lake and the sixth largest freshwater lake in the world. Its shoreline is 1,638 miles! Now that's a big shoreline!

  1. What a nice sight on a cold, gray day. I haven't visited the Michigan shore of Lake Michigan -- we need to do that one of these days.

  2. Good Morning Shelley, The lake is gorgeous. I love sitting beside a lake. It's just so relaxing.

We were supposed to get 1-2 inches of snow this morning. It didn't happen. NOT a flake!!!! Am I surprised??? ha

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  4. OH Lake Michican is beautiful. I grew up in Racine and was at the lake all the time. BUT..I have a very healthy fear of that lake and all the Great Lakes..isnt Lake Superior the deadliest???

Its beautiful and I'm just now beginning to miss our warm weather. We are headed into a deep freeze for a about a week or so..bundle up!

  8. Such a beautiful blue lake, at first I thought you were in the Caribbean! Unlike our very gray Lake Erie which matches our very gray skies. Only the hardy can live in W. PA!

  10. I was thinking of Lake Michigan yesterday as I passed Douglas Lake. Douglas is small, but yesterday the wind was so bad it looked like a choppy ocean. Made me think about the Great Lakes, that I am sure they often look that way.

Looks calm and beautiful in this photograph.

  12. Hi Shelley!

It IS beautiful! I did see Lake Michigan once. We have relatives that live in Indiana. They took us to Mount Baldy..which we climbed and saw Lake Michigan. How gorgeous it was there too!

However, you are very blessed to have your log cabin on the quiet lake as well! :)

    Have a great day!
    Tammy

  15. The blue of the lake is so pretty. I love Lake Michigan being from Chicago. My dh and I drove from Chicago to Mackinaw Island so we've traveled all along the western and northern side but I have never traveled the eastern side of lower Michigan. I've always wanted to take the ferry across the lake from Manitowoc to Ludington. Maybe this next summer or fall.
