A drawing and a good recipe for Easter!



Don't forget to check back tomorrow night for my drawing! I will draw a name out of my log cabin followers and send them a little gift from my Nature Store. To all my followers (and visitors!) - thank you for visiting me! I have met so many wonderful people!

On a side note, I have discovered a great recipe for corn casserole by Paula Deen! This would make a great side dish for the Easter table. My brother-in-law hooked me onto this and then I had to make it. Yummy and easy to make!

Corn Casserole - Paula Deen
Ingredients
1 (15 1/4-ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (14 3/4-ounce) can cream-style corn
1 (8-ounce) package corn muffin mix (recommended: Jiffy)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, stir together the 2 cans of corn, corn muffin mix, sour cream, and melted butter. Pour into a greased 9 by 13-inch casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and top with Cheddar. Return to oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Let stand for at least 5 minutes and then serve warm.

    I have a similar recipe that calls for evap milk and then I add minced, dried onions and diced jalapenos to it. It is especially yummy!

    I am still working on my Easter Menu, the only definite so far is pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes and gravy. Oh yes, ambrosia salad too! I haven't decided on the veggies yet, our daughters and their families are joining us so I need to find out what they want to make.

  11. Most anything Paula Deen makes sounds great to me. I have made something similar to this recipe for Thanksgiving. I do agree it would be a great addition to Easter dinner.

    I agree with you...I've met so many nice people blogging also. It's like having a ton of friends and checking in on them everyday to see what they are doing. When they don't blog for a few days I miss them.
    I love your blog because you are such a sweet friend to everyone and always leave nice comments. I enjoy the pictures you take and post.

  15. Ooh that sounds sinfully delightful. I love Paula Deen and this recipe sounds wonderful I just wish I had the foodnetwork. Living on a budget stinks some times but cable tv is not a necessity. I look forward to the give away who knows maybe I'll win.

  17. That sounds lovely. Wish I could get the ingredients. Don't think the cream style corn is available in the UK and I've never seen corn muffin mix. I'll have to investigate some websites!
