Morning at the log cabin

Morning is my favorite time at the cabin. The lake is calm. The air is crisp and clean. The birds are chirping. (Never mind that Greg is snoring like crazy and the dog kept licking my face at 4 in the morning to go to the bathroom.)

Ah yes....I wasn't quiet enough on the dock so these Mergansers ran for their lives. Seriously, I won't hurt you! Though I do have visions of capturing you and putting you in my bathtub to be permanent pets.....no, I'm kidding! Really! Come back...

  1. Lovely photos!

I love mornings at/on the lake! Frank and I always feel sorry for people that miss God's beautiful sunrises while listening to the water lap at the boat. It's just a calming time of day!

  8. Greg snoring????? My hubby can do the same thing --but luckily, most of the time his snoring is not loud (thank goodness).

  14. I love the late morning in at the cabin. Like Greg I'm snoring until sunrise (9:00 over Goat Island). But I do love to lie in bed and listen to the birds while I'm being lazy. - Margy

  18. Peace and quiet for me usually includes Patrick's snore and a dog or two whining to get out! Funny huh? Your photos do reflect a peacefulness. The soft swishing of the ducks wings against the water. Ahhh. Can't wait to get home to N.Idaho!

  31. We too have a log house in the not-so-wilds of Canada. Morning is a special time. In summer we wake up under our bedroom skylight and watch trees swaying, birds passing by. Heavenly!
