Bargain shopping for the cabin

I love a good bargain, especially picking up cute items for our log cabin. I've been very fixated on my guest room (really, you'll enjoy being my guest!) and keep picking up odds and ends for it. I have a birds and blooms theme going on.

My recent store favorite has been the Christmas Tree Shop. Don't be fooled by the name - they have great home accents for indoors and outdoors. Take a look at this butterfly hanging I found - only $2.99? Can you believe it?

Here's a view of the guest room. (Really, it is a nice view from there, never mind my car that's parked too close!) That green mason glass candle holder on the table is from the Christmas Tree Shop - price - only $1.99!

Anyways, I'm still working on your room for when you come visit. I saw a cute dresser that has birds and flowers hand painted on it at Home Goods. I also want to pick up a nice headboard. Maybe I should put a wine cellar in there too...what do you think? (I bet a lot of you want to come visit me now!)

  1. It just looks so comfortable and if you do the wine thing your guest may stay to long and the rest of us will just be waiting in line to long.LOL

  2. well I love it, you need a few more things for me though, 1 bag of plain M'M's, the latest Victorian or Cottage type magazine, a TV with a few movie choices and I want to borrow Scout for my afternoon snooze.

  8. I think I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: You must have been an interior designer in a previous life. The insides of your cabin really are outstanding.

  16. Your room looks so good, although when I come I will be spending all my time on your porch. I think your views are amazing! You do have a decorator's touch too. I really like the store you mentioned, My daughter took me there two months ago, and we spent an hour wondering the isles.

  20. I love a good bargain. My favourite shop is the Hospital thrift store, but the economy has really hit it hard. People are not donating as much as they did before so there isn't a good selection of bargains right now. It's tough times all around. - Margy
