Meet my friend the Blue Heron

Heading to the cabin tomorrow. Hoping I have exciting stories to tell you. Just know it will probably involve birds, a lake, cabin, glass of wine and an adirondack chair! What are you up to this weekend? (By the way, do you think I'm the laziest blogger ever? I'm hoping not....)

  7. For some reason, when a great blue is in flight it reminds me of a pteradactyl. Stately and regal as they are while wading, they are one clumsy looking bird in flight.

  9. Love the heron picture, Shelley. They're such beautiful birds.

We just got home this evening from our week up north in a log cabin. I envy you owning one of those beauties. We had such a peaceful and relaxing time. I hope that's what you're doing right now!

  10. Now that is a meal! The herons at our marina were all scared away during the construction (rebuilding the whole thing for 10 months). But I am happy to say at least one has returned and I hope the rest are not far behind. Have a great time at the cabin! - Margy

  16. I'm SO HAPPY you are "back" - missed the three (sorry Marvin) FOUR of you!

LOVE this heron picture, I do an unofficial count of herons on the Hudson River as I commute down and back every workday - late spring I noticed a pair of whooping cranes but they moved on after a couple of days - they are such magnificant creatures - and blue herons are just behind them...

Missed you - please don't leave us in freefall for so long next time you need to rest, relax and regroup.

    Hugs and pets!
