- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I remember the day I took this photo from my kayak. It was a glorious morning. The lake was quiet and calm with a mist rising in the distance. The loons were calling to each other. I could breathe in the fresh crisp air. I was able to slip into nature and be a silent observer. I'm looking forward to having another morning like this soon. Hurry spring!
ohhh i can feel it! we're getting close.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo. Charli has really been acting up today and not listening. It's a sure sign of spring. she does this every year so it won't be long now.
ReplyDeleteCame here from George's blog. This is my kind of countryside.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your photos of critters from the cabin too.
Shall we swap weather trends - we are in the middle of a heatwave and bushfires!
Hi Shelley, After 3 days of snow flurries (only about 2 inches total) and snow blowing around in the air---and after temperatures in the TEENS and below (low of 9 degrees this morning), I too am yearning for SPRING... Hurry up, Spring!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
How beautiful and relaxing.
ReplyDeleteAlright, usaully, I would say I wanted more cold weather(and snow), BUT, I want SPRING! I want beautiful flowers, and birds, and warm weather, and mornings like that! =D
ReplyDeleteLove, Joy =D
I love a calm morning on the lake, whem the fog is rising! It is such a calming sight.
ReplyDeleteSpring will be here soon!
'Glorious Morning' is completely appropriate for this picture. Glorious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool capture. I'm ready for Spring!
ReplyDeleteThat is so peaceful!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cathie
beautiful picture, wonderful quote!
ReplyDeleteOh Shelley, I think this is my favorite photo so far! I feel peaceful just looking at it! I love it!

I can just hear the loons crying. Our lake has been foggy for two days. When the sun broke through this afternoon it was so blue above and below it was breathtaking. You are right, now all we need is a little more warmth. - Margy
ReplyDeleteOh! Shelley, this was one of my favorite pictures! I had it on my desktop for a while!
ReplyDeleteI wish the weather would make up its mind! One day I'm chipping ice off my car and 2 days later it's 78 degrees! Is it any wonder I can't get rid of this danged cold?! Springtime in Texas...allergy season extraordinaire! I can NOT wait to move to Montana! We're going to the big log home show here in Dallas this weekend! Yippee!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures of your critters. My stepmom and father had a squirrel many years ago. I think my father brought him home as a baby. (He was probably squirrel hunting when he came across him). That squirrel started out cute but got pretty ornery before too long! I'll bet being kept indoors had something to do with that! He'd pounce on us if we walked too close to my stepmother (who belonged to HIM!) They wound up moving him gradually more and more outdoors until they thought it was okay for him to be let go. He lived in a tree right outside their house and hung out on their porch a lot. It's funny how I forgot about that until I saw your picture of "Baby". Happy Thursday!

I feel like I'm right there in that kayak and the warm sunshine is beaming down on me...oh, what I'd give! But, no...it's 16 degrees here in "Hotlanta"! I am SO ready for SPRING!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quote and photo/description! I took a similar photo when I was kayaking last summer :)
ReplyDeleteHi Shelley-how beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
Hugs-Kath
We live on 8 acres in the U.P. I always say I'm going to pick a place and take a picture of that same place through all 4 seasons.... and note the differences. That would be a perfect spot for you....
ReplyDeleteI'm here at school so the photos are blocked,... arrrggghhh,...but that quote is one i've seen before. And so very true! Thanks for reminding me of it!
ReplyDeleteIt will be here sooner than we think.
ReplyDeleteI hope spring hurries too!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Stunning!!
ReplyDeleteOn this busy morning, I can almost feel the calm of that picture. I think the picture is so appealing. Did you have your hot cup of coffee with you?
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous, peaceful photo Shelley.
ReplyDeletewow, gorgeous gorgeous, makes me want to join you in that boat.
ReplyDeleteSimply breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteShelley that is such a beautiful picture of the calm lake. I hope spring/summer hurries, I'm cold.
ReplyDeleteFunny thing, I was on facebook today ribbing some of our mutual friends who live down south as they were complaining about being cold.
ReplyDeleteI put in my status that I was sweltering in this sub zero heat.
Wow, love that photo! I've enjoyed browsing through your blog - just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMandy
Thank you everyone for stopping by! I see I'm not the only one dreaming of spring! Shelley
ReplyDeleteP.S. Screen Door - that's an excellent idea w/ the photos!!
I'm trying to take each day as it comes--our snow will be a long time melting, but its so very nice to think about Spring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of a lovely day!
Blessings to you!

Beautiful. I would like to be there too.
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine being there, no wonder you love your log cabin so much:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening!

I am ready for Spring/Summer too!! The winter makes everything so gloomy and cold - Thanks for sharing a warm day filled with lots of great colors!! The lake looks so calm and serene.
ReplyDeleteYour pic is GREAT Shelley! And you never cease to amaze me!!!... Kayak...!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
Monica xo.
I love love love this picture. I went Kayaking for the first time this past year. And love it. So looking forward to summer.
ReplyDeleteThis is a STUNNING photo!
ReplyDeleteIs your camera waterproof?
A wonderful shot, Shelley. I would love to live on a lake! I second A. Joy's comment - is your camera waterproof, or do you have waterproof housing for it? I'm petrified to take my Nikon DSLR out on the water, and am considering getting a camera specifically designed for being around water.
ReplyDeleteA. Joy - my camera is not waterproof and I'm extra careful in my kayak! (But I do get nervous sometimes having it w/ me!)
ReplyDeleteWould love to have that feeling of so to the loons.
