What's happening outside...

Autumn is coming a little later this year to northern Michigan. The fall colors are only about 1/3 of the way. I imagine it will be another 2 weeks before they peak. Let's check out what's happening outside the log cabin...

Here's a view from the deck.

Looking out at the lake.

Greg needs to do some trimming around the dock. Looks like we're walking out into a rain forest.

Look at these mushrooms I found. Don't they look like 3 marshmallows you want to pop into your mouth?

Scout is taking Greg for a walk....

Would you like to take me for a walk? I promise to be good...

  2. I love the colors of Fall. Since we don't get that beautiful artist palette of colors here I have to live vicariously through others! Thanks for giving me a glimpse.

It's actually been decent here lately, lots of rain again but I have been able to keep the windows open for a few days. Today is humid since we're supposed to get T-Storms. Back on goes the A/C!

Today, my youngest moves out of our house and in with his sister who only lives 5 minutes from where he goes to college. Big adjustment time for me! I went grocery shopping yesterday and got SO sad! For the first time in almost 32 years I shopped with no kids in mind! No diapers, Lucky Charms, Pizza Rolls, Mt Dew, Ramen Noodles and so on! Weird!

  5. The colors are looking beautiful in Michigan! We have barely started fall leaves here. We peak usually the 3-4 week of October, but this year they might be a little early.

I would love to walk Scout!

  6. Beautiful! I love fall but this year allergies are getting the best of me. Guess it can't be helped when your surrounded by corn fields and their harvesting.

I couldn't believe how much Scout has grown. lol That girl is all legs!!!!

  7. Hi Shelley, What pretty, tranquil scenery today. The lake is especially beautiful.

Scout seems to have grown so much each time I see a new photo of her. She's really adorable.

Can't wait til you get lots more color in the trees - looks like it will be a lovely Autumn in your area.

  8. This may be a repeat as I didn't show it go through the first time.

I love fall too so thanks for sharing the fall pictures. Around here I've had to deal with fall allergies thanks to the corn fields I'm surrounded by. The past week the farmers have been hitting them heavy to get them in.

I can't believe how much Scout has grown! That girl is all legs!!! I would love taking her for a walk.

    Take care,
    Debbie

I love fall, it's so pretty with the color changes. I just am not real fond of the cold that is going to follow.

  13. Wow--has Scout grown!!!! Goodness--you must be feeding him his "Wheaties"...

Love your Fall colors--even though they are late. We still have very few here. SO--we probably won't peak this year 'til November.. That's late for us too.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  17. Ahh, Scout looks like she is giving the "sad look", begging to go for a walk.
    The colors are beautiful there.

  18. You have more color than we do, although it is definitely starting to look like autumn here as well. If autumn is late hopefully that means you can enjoy it longer.
It was good of Scout to take Greg for a walk. Does Scout do that often?

  19. We have been going out in the woods a lot over the last few days, despite the rain...to try and get some photos..and it is so weird..five miles down the road from one spot it will still be all green and around the corner, all color.
Sure hope the rain lets up and the wind doesn't get too strong so we can all get some better pictures soon!
These of yours were great....the lake looks like it is down despite all the rain?

  20. I really like your pictures this time. The single red leaf, the overgrown dock, and the fall colors just peeking through all the green. And of course your hubby and scout. Nice shots!
