Outdoor projects at the cabin

We've been busy at the log cabin doing outdoor projects and entertaining friends. This past weekend I was elected recording secretary of our lake association. I keep joking to Greg that I'm one step away from being mayor of this one-horse town!

Greg has been driving his ATV and picking up all these free rocks for our slope. He also put in a mulch pathway that I think turned out pretty nice.

Greg's flower boxes are doing well!

The butterflies seem to like these purple flowers. (I don't know what they are called, I'm just happy I haven't killed them! Ha!)

My new bird bath - don't think I've shown it to you yet. I found this in an antique shop for $20 - isn't it wonderful?

We've been invaded by baby Grosbeaks! I counted 7 of them the other day on our deck crying for their parents to feed them. They're noisy and I love them. Look at this plump little girl - she's certainly well fed! I don't know what my excuse is......I need to tell PF Changs and Pepsi Cola to quit feeding me....

Wow you have been busy. Pack up the babies and send them to me. I think your plant is Monardia also called Bee Balm and is a perennial. Hummers love it. I have it in red, but want one like yours. Love all that you are doing!!!!

There is always so much to do at the cabin, isn't there. I need to spend more time at ours to get some serious resealing done inside and out. Your beds look wonderful and the paths. Hubby is doing a great job. The flower that the hummers love is a Bee Balm, mine too, like Sharons, is red. They are nearly impossible to kill and will reseed. Mine grow in the sun and the shade so they are nearly indestructible. Love that fat lil Grosbeak.

I just love the rocks on the slope. Those rocks look heavy - it must have been a lot of work collecting them and putting them there. Yard is looking really nice.

Thanks for stopping by to visit us. I forgot to answer your question. We give Charli regular ice cream. We only give vanilla and just a little bit. If you stop by a dairy Queen or custard place and ask for a doggy portion sometimes they have special little cups and include a dog treat of some kind.

Wow! You two sure do know how to create beautiful grounds at your cabin. All of it looks like a magazine picture. I wish my flower boxes looked as healthy as your do. The caption with the little Grosbeak made me smile once again. Thanks for another enjoyable visit here today.

Somehow I missed this post. Those flowers are so pretty and that birdbath sundial is perfect. I'd love to find one like that.
Good luck on the job. I hope all goes well.

I love how those are "Greg's" flower boxes - does he have the greener thumb of the two of you, or are you equally endowed??

(my uncle has the green thumb, as well as the domestic side, which is always amusing to me)
