I love all seasons and winter is no different. I think in finding many activities to do in winter such as skiing and snow shoeing, it makes the cold more tolerable. Our cabin is located in a snowbelt in Northern Michigan - and this makes my dog Scout beyond happy. (Greg has been grumbling about all the shoveling, but really all he's doing is the deck. We got a snow plow guy for the driveway.)
Here's Scout guarding all her snow.
Greg shoveled the deck. I was too busy feeding and talking to the birds.
My bird feeders have been so busy. Almost had the nuthatch eat out of my hand. The chickadees always do and scold me while they do it.
How much snow do you have? I was thinking about making a snowman but I figured Scout would canabalize it shortly after. Just how much snow can a dog eat?!

Hard to imagine that much snow for this GA girl! GA did have some ice to form on the roads about a week ago - what a traffic nightmare! We get so tickled about Scout and HER snow! So happy my mailman actually delivered Scout's card to us this time! (mailman also returned my blog friend from WA's card!!!) I finally got it back one month later!
Your bird friends are beautiful!
That's a lot of snow for Scout to guard! HA! Pretty pictures, Shelley. We only have a couple of inches of snow here, but it has been so cold for so long that it hasn't melted away at all. Wonderful picture of your birds at the feeder. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas! :D
You definitely have gotten a lot of snow! I wonder how long it will stick around with Scout guarding it so carefully?
I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas.
We had a white Thanksgiving (in the States that is) but looks like a no go for Christmas. It has been in the 40s here close to sea level, but I can see lots of white on the hills and mountains inland. Have a great Christmas. - Margy
Love your cabin and your pictures...Your deck and view are very similar to ours.
We have a few inches of snow still on the ground - because it's been so cold. Our 3 pups LOVE eating the snow - and when it's snowing, they look up in the air...and open their mouths and catch the falling snow!! Crazy!!
Merry Christmas!!
Sounds like you are enjoying yourself. Beautiful photos....Merry Christmas. Uh, no snow here of course.
Pretty snow shots! We don't have snow at the moment but they are predicting snow here starting Christmas eve through early Christmas afternoon, so we will have a white Christmas.
Merry Christmas Shelley!!
Hugs,
Penny
Shelley you got you some snow! Thank goodness, wouldn't want Scout to not have her snow :) We have no snow but it's a comin! Only 3 inches Friday during the day but we will have a White Christmas. So they say! Merry Christmas to you and Greg, Marvin and Scout-just in case I don't get another chance!
Your pictures from the cabin look wonderful. We still haven't seen any snow here. Ice and a lot of rain but no snow. Now they are saying possibly Friday night/Saturday morning. Sasha loves the snow too. There won't be a smooth spot once she gets outside in it.
I hope you, Greg and Scout have a very Merry Christmas!
*hugs*

Oh, you don't want to know how much snow I have. :)
Your snowy landscape looks amazing...and those birdies? Gorgeous!!!!!
Scout eats snow? Well, really it is just water right? That means more 3am pee breaks.
I love watching big dogs romp in the snow (o:
We have zero snow...and frankly, i am alright with that.
A few years ago it snowed in early Dec. and it was spring before we dug out.
Enjoy your cabin and the snow and birds (o:
Family and Scout too.
This is a fantastic place you have!! It's just beautiful, and can imagine Scout loves the snow!!!
We will be driving to the mountains for Christmas weekend...lots of snow..and more on it's way.
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

Loved the pictures!! The birds are so cute! But I have to call you on your cabin being in the snowbelt of Michigan..you know that title can ONLY be used to describe the U.P. Shelley!

We have a LOT of snow in Michigamme!!
Looks like you got as much of the winter wonderland flakes that we did...check out todays pics.
Love your Scout. He is a sweetheart. I love it when they dive into the snow and come up with a nose full.

Pretty pretty pretty! I love snow (until about March.) Merry Christmas, Shelley!
Perfect place and perfect weather conditions to celebrate this beautiuful holiday. Wishing all of you a wonderful time together! I would love to see more snow and nature pictures that you capture. Your photography is impressive.
Thanks for sharing your log cabin. I have really enjoyed your posts about your beautiful log cabin.
Happy New Year Shelley! The winter wonderland photos look great. And I think we actually caught the tail end of your snow last week. Wish I were out there in XC skis right now!
Have a good one.
