A winter walk...

Once again, Scout is going to take Greg for a walk. Whoops, I mean Greg is taking Scout for a walk....yeah....let's see how this works out.

First she sits down and refuses to budge.

Then they walk to the end of the dock. And as I call out to Greg to make sure she doesn't jump onto the lake (as I have terrible visions going through my head of my puppy plunging through the icy waters) - she promptly jumps onto the lake.

Yep, time to come on back before mommy has a heart attack!

Looks like MI still has plenty of snow. Don't you let her off leash at the cabin?? She doesn't look wet in the photo...Did she get all wet when she got in the lake? Scout is a small BMD isn't she? I've seen some really huge ones and some small ladylike ones. have a good week Shelley!

Hi Shelley, Does Miss Scout still want "mommy" to walk with her--instead of Daddy?????

Glad she didn't go through the ice... You have more snow now than you did a year ago...

Great pictures...
Hugs to you both,
Betsy

Sasha would do the same thing in the winter when the pond would free on the farm. I too had horrible visions of what could happen. Nothing like going out there to see doggie tracks running down the middle.

Hope your staying warm up there!
*hugs*

Why does Scout need the leash when she's got Mommy's apron strings? Sheesh! Is it any wonder that she ploped down on the trail...looking back at the cabin, mind you...and wouldn't move forward with poor Greg? You've spoiled that pup something awful! (Or maybe it's the other way 'round?)

Fun post, Shelley! Scout always looks like she loves the snow and is right at home in it. She's such a pretty dog and good companion to you.
I would have been nervous about her going out on the lake too. :)

How pretty it looks there, with that white fluffy snow! I grew up on a lake in Michigan and our collie would walk on the ice all winter look to get to the other side. Every spring he would walk across in the morning, the lake would thaw and he would sit barking at us across the lake. We would have to unearth our row bow, launch it - break through ice to row across the lake and get him and row him back home - lol.
Hugs,
Penny

I think Scout still wants Mommy to walk her. But at least life is never boring with Scout around. You still have plenty of snow around the cabin -- ours is all gone.

The walk in the snow is always fast and furious when the dogs get to play in the snow. Love your Scout.
Now, how on earth did I miss your last few entries...sorry. Love visiting your cabin. It has electricity and running water...I'm just a wee jealous.

Look at all that snow you have! WOW! I'd say Scout and your hubby are pretty tight buds. :)

That is a dog that loves snow for sure...does she ever run around on her own or do you have to keep her on a leash all the time?

You still have a lot of snow there, don't you? We had a little bit this weekend, but it disappeared by the middle of the day. Today it was sunny, crisp and clear :-)
So glad she didn't fall through.

Marcia

So thankful that you had your camera to capture this moment. I love the pictures and I wonder if they were planning the outcome together? Scout is getting so big. He is so fortunate to have the two of you for her parents:)
