Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog.
What a great blog you have.
I am going to come back and look at your older posts.
You should make a book for your log cabin.

The web page is great. I may have missed something. I didn't know you had become Hiawatha reps. Congratulations! I think you are living my dream life. I am a Realtor and my husband is a builder and I thought (if we were younger) we could have done that. So exciting for you!
I want to enter the contest - I am thinking of my quote. Be back later.

This is from a Robert Frost poem and I have it in a post on my cabin blog:

"The woods are lovely,
dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
and miles to go before I sleep."

This is from a book I recently read "Bittersweet Country" by Elaine Long,it is about a 20 yr. old girl who moves from the city to Montana to start a sheep farm. The best book I have ever read! The quote -

"I have learned more about life in the past two months on this farm, than I have in all the 20 yrs. of my life."

There are so many good ones about nature. But I do have a favorite. This one is on the side bar of my blog...

“May my life be like a great hospitable tree, and may weary wanderers find rest in me.”
John Henry Jowett

I think this quote is great for a log cabin.

Congratulations and good luck on your new venture. I hope it is very rewarding for you both.

Here is a link to quotes that is all about trees. You might like it.

Hi, I've been a regular reader of VioletLady's blog and came over to find out about your log cabin. It looks beautiful! My friend owns a log cabin in Central Oregon and I've been there with her.

My nature quote comes from an old book, The Dean's Watch, by Elizabeth Goudge. "...near as the yellow rose that climbed from the walled garden below and in June propped itself upon her window sill and scented her room. The scent of a flower is a very close and intimate thing, she thought. It can seem to be a part of your body and blood."

I'm a nature lover myself and I find so much peace from being outside away from the busyness of life! My fav quote is:
How strange that Nature does not knock, and yet does not intrude! ~Emily Dickinson

We are also gathering house plans for building a home and log cabins are popular around here!

What a great site you have. And what a great idea, this asking for quotes. I loved reading them.

Here's one of my favorites:

It is fortunate, perhaps, that no matter how intently one studies the hundred little dramas of the woods and meadows, one can never learn all the salient facts about any one of them.
Aldo Leopold
Sand County Almanac

I love them all, living with nature the way we do, but there is one in particular that seems written just for us. Not only is the content sheer perfection, but I am totally enamored of Lord Byron's style:

"There is pleasure in the pathless woods, there is rapture in the lonely shore, there is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar; I love not Man the less, but Nature more."

George Gordon Byron, 1788-1824
