Outdoors at the Log Cabin

It's amazing all the things you can do outdoors just around the log cabin. Greg and I had some set projects to work on but we always find time for a little fun!

Here is the morning moon shot from the deck of our log cabin.

We checked the logs - making sure everything looks good as winter is fast approaching. I noticed my stain color has darkened slightly and I like this new tone.

We had numerous Mallard ducks in our lake quacking up a storm!

The leaves are still falling off the trees.

The Black-capped chickadees are flying rampant on our property and enjoying all the bird feeders I put up.

I added some little pumpkins to our porch steps.

Greg and little Greg were suppose to be raking. See that very small patch of green toward the log cabin....this was their progress. The next thing I knew, I heard the ATV start up and those 2 were cruising down the road. Hey guys - what about those leaves????

To end the day, I made a cherry pie. (And told the boys they could have a slice once the raking was finished.) I have my ways.....

Cute little pumpkins and that pie looks yummy cherry is one of my favorites. I love how well your first two pictures fit nicely together in a little diptych as if you were standing at the side of the cabin looking up at the moon and it was part of your view. Great images as always and the nuthatch pictures on your birding blog are adorable as usual.

Oh I'm so jealous, Shelley... I recently saw a gorgeous mountain cabin in Southwest VA which I would have loved to have. It was my 'dream'--but I suppose that I'll just have to enjoy yours and others who have one!!!! Thanks for the pictures.

DANG! That's a lot of leaves! Maybe he can hook up a scooper so that he can scoop up leaves while he's riding his toy!

The pie looks yummy! I made Gingerbread last night so I can put together my Pumpkin Trifle today. It's a new recipe and I can't wait to see hoew it turns out!

Three quarters done and they got pie? You're too easy on them! LOL

It's tough to keep the boys down on the farm when there's an ATV just begging to be ridden.
