37 Degrees, deer and an owl

Well I bragged too much about the 70 degree weather at our log cabin in Gaylord! It is now 37 degrees and we've had a mix of snowy rain this morning - though nothing is sticking. The bird activity at our feeders has increased tremdously and the chickadees like to buzz around my head and use my hand as a trampoline. We went to Greg's hunting property in Grayling yesterday and checked out his deer cam (see pic down below.) He was excited to see a lot of buck rubbings on the pine trees.

Mrs. Doe was having a late night out!

Marvin is going crazy for that feathered owl I bought. I let him stalk it and lick it for a few minutes - then when he gave it a bite - I gave the owl a new home on top of the kitchen cupboards.

That pic of Marvin and the Owl is priceless. Have you named the Owl yet???

We had rain today but it's still on the warmish side (55 degrees)...I expect the cold will be blowing our way by tomorrow!

Oh and that deer cam is interesting too...is it set up by motion detection?

great pics...

a deer cam huh? I think I heard Mike talking about that today...

he wants to start hunting next year in Utah...

I could not hunt... especially after seeing their sweet faces...
when Mike is watching his little hunting shows, I leave the room...

Hi Dianne - I haven't named the owl yet - have any ideas?! Yep - that is a motion - detector deer cam.

Terri - I have a hard time too thinking of that sweet deer face possibly hanging up on our log cabin wall in the future!

What do you want to bet that Marvin ends up on the top of your kitchen cabinets?! Cats are sneaky critters.

Great scout camera shot!
We had not been home 24 hours from our trip and my husband got a turkey and a deer. He would never be able to retire to Florida. Ha!

Tell me that Greg does ((((not hunt to kill!))))) I can't see that no no not if the animals allow you to share their space in the woods with them! I do love your owl and I am sure the kitty cat does too!
Greg ((((NO HUNTING allowed!))))
Naturegirl's LAW!!

I bet you've had the best week up at the log cabin all week. You picked a great week to go. Even though the weekend weather is cold and rain the whole rest of the week was wonderful. It was so hard for me to go to work all week. I'd much rather have been in a cabin somewhere!!

Cassie - so far so good!

Jen - hubby would love to see the cam capture a pic of the bobcat that we've seen before on the hunting property.

Hotbelly - I agree - gourmet hot chocolate is a must!

nature girl - the hunting property is different from where our log cabin is located. I don't like hunting either but glad hubby is only sticking to deer.

jess - i keep dreaming about winning the lotto and then never having to leave the cabin - lol!

Betsy - got my snow photos this morning!

Michele - glad you liked them!
