It's 68 Degrees today!

Today in Gaylord, it is 68 degrees, sunny with a light breeze - definitely doesn't feel like a November day. I think we picked the perfect week to spend up at our log cabin. Today we were suppose to get our internet installed and for the 4th time when a technician came out, the cable line still has not been pulled to our power pole so he can drop the lines. I have been trying since May. Needless to say I lost my patience on the phone with the unnamed cable company (but who I will name if I don't get my cable by next week!) We are hoping we can work from our cabin (and I have to admit - so I can keep up with my blogger friends when I'm up north!) So I'm back at Bigby's coffee using their wireless service. But despite the cable snafu - it was an enjoyable day.

Pine trees are my absolute favorite. I'm already having visions of garlands and wreaths in our cabin for Christmas.

This is the noisy Tufted Titmouse - he sounds like a duck being strangled when he sings his little song - but I still like him!

A sunny, blue sky day from our deck.

Greg cut down a cherry tree that was severely leaning to one side. The good thing is that it has opened up our view to the lake a little more.

I hope you get your internet service! I know how frustrating it can be living out in the country when it comes to modern amenities!
Hugs,
Penny

I'm loving this weather!! It's made it really hard to go to work the last few days. We better enjoy it while we can. You sure picked a great week to be at the cabin.

i have never heard a Tufted Titmouse. Can you get a recording of him?

Love the pictures, your home, your lake... I know, I am not supposed to covet my neighbors possesions, but some times its hard.

Good luck with the cable people.

It's been warm here lately and I am a teensy bit jealous of your weather and surroundings (strangled duck and all!) I hope the internet company comes through, it'd be awful to have to "call them out"! Ha ha!

The view there at your cabin is beautiful!! We have been having 75 degree weather here in NW Missouri but the weatherman says that is going to change. We are supposed to get some light snow thursday night and friday morning.

I took you advice and opened an Etsy shop, thank you. It is countryviewwoodcraft.etsy.com

Hope you have a great time at the cabin. Talk to you later.

Don't think the warm weather will last long. The cold front is coming through our area on Friday I think!!!! We're having temps in the 70's now which is also amazing for November

Hope you get your internet fixed. We had so much trouble with COMCAST (don't mind mentioning their name--ha) when we moved here (for TV, not internet) --that we switched to Direct TV and love it!!!! Every area is different. Good Luck!
Hugs,
Betsy

Hey Shelley...we are also having the same fantastic weather that you are...I've had no time for updating the blog as we are taking advantage of the weather to get the outside painting of the doors done.

I feel your pain on the cable hook-up. We were also given the run around with ours. Despite the fact that both poles needed already existed...and being assured over a year ago that cable hookup was no problem, suddenly when we tried to schedule we were given a 9 month waiting period before they could schedule the "build"...Yikes it's only a wire strung between 2 existing poles...

Long story short...they finally got to it mid-October. But it took many phone calls and lots of double speak and weeks of wondering what I was going to do without internet service...*gasp*

Good luck!!!

Shelley, we've been having a heat wave too! (Very nice after last week's snow.) I think it's only supposed to last another day, but it's amazing. It smells like spring outside. A true "Indian summer", although I know it's nearly over.
