A fireplace for the log cabin

After a day of skiing in northern Michigan......

Nothing is better than warming up beside my new electric fireplace!!

P.S. It has a realistic flame glow and the ability to turn the heat on or off. Now I need to buy some things to put on the mantle. Maybe some candle holders or lanterns. Maybe a wooden loon decoy. The possibilities are endless. What do you think of my new fireplace?

Now that is really neat! I have never seen one like that. I thought you had a wood fireplace for some reasons.... Have fun decorating the mantel!

GORGEOUS!!! I'm not sure which I like more...the snow or the fireplace! Please tell me I will survive my first time snow skiing...I'm so nervous!

Love the fireplace - so inviting. I also wanted to thank you for posting a picture of yourself. Nice to have a face to put with the stories. And a beautiful face at that!

I'm not sure I would want to go out in the snow with a nice fireplace like that.

How could you think I would actually not come here after the comment you left on my blog? HA!
I think this is cool. My husband and I are now really really wishing we had snow. We live in this cool historic home (we're caretaking at the moment) but the fireplaces aren't safe to use. So seeing something like this is comforting!

I haven't seen such a good looking electric fireplace before. The honey toned wood is really pretty & goes nice with your logs.

Penny - I wish we had a wood burning fireplace...maybe the next cabin! :)

April - You will survive! I personally found it much easier to ski out west. Too icy here in Mich!

Sandy - Thank you!!

George - the cat doesn't want to leave it either!

Carol - I'm glad you like it!

Countrygirl - ha,ha! Glad you came to visit! A historic home sounds wonderful to me too!

Cassie - thank you - my dad bought it for us as an xmas present!

Lady of the mote - thanks!!!

Ahhhhh,... a very nice fireplace,...you will never have to lug and tug on wood for it,.. never have to clean out ashes,... just sit and enjoy, and sip on something warm. Perfect!

Oh My Gosh---I had no idea you didn't have a wood-burning fireplace in that new cabin. That would be the first thing on my list. Cabins and fireplaces just go together.. Of course, that is JUST my opinion !!!! ha ha...

I had a gas log in my fireplace once and it just wasn't the same thing as a wood-burning fireplace. George might disagree though since he is the one who does all of the work.

SO--at least now, you have good substitute. I'm sure you'll love it--and it will be alot less work!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Love it...put a crock on the mantel too, remember odd numbers and hard and soft...I have to keep reminding myself of that tip when I decorate:)

A nice fireplace with no muss or fuss. Flames to watch, warmth to enjoy, no wood to split and carry in on rainy days, no smoke in the cabin, no dirt on the floor. But I guess my Kozi won't have to worry, we don't have enough electricity for one at our place. - Margy

I think I love it!

It's perfect for your log cabin! It just adds a little more snug and cozy factor to an already snug and cozy place!

Enjoy!

Pretty. Guess it is easier than cleaning up the ashes from a new one.

I wish we had put in a fireplace when we built out house but since it is such a small home, I didn't want to lose the wall space.

I've often thought of buying an electric fireplace. Keep me posted on how you like it. I have allergies so a real fireplace wouldn't be good for me anyway.

That's great Shelley! Just the job when you want to have 'instant' heat on a cold day. And of course, none of the cleaning involved as with a 'real' one.
It's feeling positively tropical here in southern England today after our recent coldsnap - no snow, or frost....just rain! - Bring back the snow!

You needed the fireplace. What is a log cabin without a fireplace? Got to snuggle up to it when you come in from all that snow you get up there.

Yes it needs a loon on it.
