Signs of Spring

It was a little cold this weekend at the cabin. It stayed in the 50's so I wasn't able to go kayaking to search for my loons. But even though it was cold, I did see signs of spring everywhere...

The trees are blooming...

The tulips are blooming...

It was the first time I saw the gray squirrel running about....he looks a little skinny so I will need to give him some peanuts....

The male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were singing their hearts out in our trees...

And Mrs. Robin finished building her nest and was laying on her eggs!

Yesterday the twig was brown and bare;
To-day the glint of green is there;
Tomorrow will be leaflets spare;
I know no thing so wondrous fair,
No miracle so strangely rare.
I wonder what will next be there!

it was cold here also, never got to as warm as they said it would. today its not doing anything good either and they said it would. we have had this blanket of cool temps and clouds just hovering over wisconsin.

your pictures as usual are beautiful, your robin is doing exactly what mine is.

Sorry some cold weather put a damper on your kayaking plans. It was warm here, so I can't complain. That Grosbeak is GORGEOUS...I've never seen one before.

50's are good working weather if the sun is shining. Been in the 90's around here. It is beginning to look like spring. Great photos as usual and thanks for the compliment on my last post..

You know, you really do have a very special gift with the camera. Your pictures speak volumes all by themselves. You are truly Blessed.
I want to know how your neighbors are? And when are we planning a sleep over so we can all stare at them through 25 pair of binoculars and make sure they see us! Can you imagine? LOL I think that would be great!
Ok, I'm bad. (I still think it'd be funny.)
HAGD! Karen

Spring has sprung
the grass has riz
I wonders where
the birdies is?

In the past, we have had a mockingbird nest in our Crepe Myrtle tree in the front yard. Those little boogers are VERY territorial! The neighbor's cat was walking down the middle of the street and it was dive bombing her, swooping down with it little "talons". It was funny to see!

Last year it swooped down on me but then it must've realized that I am the one who fills the bird feeders!
