Cabin by Candlelight

So I leave for the cabin before Greg (he had to work later and pick up my stepson.) It's a gloomy day up north - it's been raining on and off. Perfect for some candles - right?!

So I set out some of my 4th of July decorations, light my lanterns....

Then I light candles around the cabin, turn on the fireplace, etc. Sounds pretty romantic - right?

Greg walks in and sees all my glowing candles and says "Oh, did we have a power outage?"

Geeez!!!!

P.S. Kohls has 40% off of all their 4th of July decor!

Typical man, Shell. George would come in and say, "Are you trying to burn the house down?" ha ha ha

Hope you enjoy your weekend and see lots of loons.

Just think---it's not long 'til you get your baby.... Yeah Rah.
Love you too,

I'm not sure a power failure is the first thing I would think of after seeing your cabin like this. Definitely very welcoming.

I busted out laughing! My husband would have said the same thing. The next thing he would have said following that would have been... "well, shouldn't we save them for when we DO?"

Sheesh.

Perfect, cozy, inviting mountain cabin, and down in his heart I know he loves it. It seems that they just need to say something of that nature. The first time my husband walked onto our porch with all of the candles lit, he said it looked like a stadium. He was used to sitting on the porch in the darkness. I like your July 4th touches and love the candles.

me and KOHL's we got it goin' on! Love that store! Just got home from my trip to Missouri and helping out with the grands. I need a vacation now!

I'll bet you can't wait until you get to bring Scout home. We watched "Marley & Me' last night and I cried like a baby! You know that "ugly cry"? Yeah, that's the one!

Greg might not have said that if he wasn't bringing in his son with him. BTW, watched On Golden Pond yesterday. Looked at those loons differently than the last time I watched the movie. Do they really let you know when the rain in coming?
