Letter "Y"

Today I am participating in A thru Z Mondays, hosted by the fabulous Jen at Unglazed. Be sure to visit her blog if you would like to participate and visit other bloggers that are joining in the fun!

Today's letter is Y. My letter "Y" is for my YOUNGER sister - Stefanie! (If she were here, she would point out "much younger." In fact she made sure to tell everyone during her maid of honor speech at my wedding. When everyone found out we were 10 years apart - cuz people thought I looked young for my age - there was a collective gasp across the crowd. No - just kidding - I made that up. Only my hubby Greg gasped.

Here she is holding her niece Scout. (You really didn't think I was going to give up an opportunity to post a gratuitous photo of my dog Scout now did you?)

Anyways, I can't boss her around like I used to. (I had a straw doll I used to scare her with when we were kids to keep her out of my room. One time my brother hid it in her bed and she about had a heart attack at the age of 5 when she found it. My mom tossed it - and thereafter my brother and I lost leverage over her!)

Don't you wish you were my YOUNGER sister???

What a lovely photo! Your YOUNGER sister is very pretty and Scout looks right at home :) Funny stories and as for your question, hmm, well, as your mum has chucked the straw dolly, I think I would because then I could have Scout on MY lap!

How old is Scout, 7 weeks? How much does she weigh now?

It's nice to "meet" Stefanie. My sis is 7 years older than me and I know what "FUN" you two must have. I enjoyed your A-Z post very much. I love Scout - she's adorable.

Not having any sisters, I envy you. (Though I wouldn't give up having a brother) I wonder if you could get another straw doll on ebay to get your "leverage" back? lol!

I have been enjoying the pictures of your newest family member! Your "Older" family member there is cute too! Ha Ha!

I always wanted to have a sister to grow up with. I am an only child from a large family since my father was married 3 times. He and his 1st wife had 4 children, my mother only had me and he and my stepmother had 5! Unfortunately, I have never been close to any of them! It's probably given me a greater appreciation for the relationships I now have in my life.

If you get a chance, stop by and see the amazing photo I posted from Dave's recent fishing trip. I'll bet you can relate1

Aww..Stefanie is pretty and so is Scout! I know you're having fun with your new puppy!

You know my kids are just about 10 months apart, lacking one month. So I know all about that stuff! :) Besides, I was 4 years older than my brother and he still talks about how I used to scare him into thinking I wasn't his sister really....I was an alien that took his sister and came in her place! You would think he was traumatized from it or something to hear him tell it! :)

Have a great week, Shelley!

I only have the library computor for an hour, so can't read all the comments...did anybody tell you you were an evil older sister??? My older sister used to scare the stuffing out of me all the time and I still hate her for it. No, just kidding, really. I only plot some nursing home shenanigans for her when the time comes.
Scout is already getting to be a big girl! How is the potty training going? Your Younger sis looks a lot like you.

Aw, your sister and Scout look so sweet together! Being an only child myself, there was no one to pick on me, and no one for me to pick on! But wow, you were tough on your sister, with that doll and all. I bet she's gotten you back for that though...

What a nice use of the letter Y! Your Younger sister is quite beautiful.

I have three younger sisters, so I don't need another one, but you can't have too many dogs like Scout!! ((hugging Scout))

Hi Shel!

Your sis is beautiful! Prettiness runs in the fam I see! :)
Scout is so darn sweet...I have fallen so far behind on my visits...I meant to "WELCOME" her to her new home and new family, I had it (the 27th) marked on my calendar... LOL...don't ask me why....other than I was so excited you were getting a new pup!!....how's she doin with the potty training?
Hope she and Marvin are bestest buds, and everyone has adjusted well!!

Hugs-Kath

Nice tribute, but no, I would not really prefer to be your younger sister - no offense...

Shame on you for picking on her. I think she looks like you. My youngest so is 10 years younger than my daughter. She always thought she could mother him. Now he tells her "I don't need another mother telling me what to do."

My sister and I are #7 & #8 of eight kids. She loves to tell people she is my 'much younger' sister, I laugh because it is a whopping 20 months. You look alike for sure! Cute pup too!

Yes, the candy stick is still there and was definitely my favorite part too. It was such fun to eat. We were like kids!

Yes, Shelley that was an address plate that I made for my daughter. You should definitely give it a try.

Your sister is adorable and so is your new dog! My husband's grandma (98 years old) had to have her dog put down Sunday because she had cancer in her mouth. We are going to be looking for another dog for her because she's too lonely without one.

Your younger sister is as cute as Scout is. I also had a younger sister who was 10 years younger. But as the only girl in the family she had (has) all the leverage.

Betsy Banks Adams said...

Hey Girlie.... Have you beat up on Scout yet???? I know you want to whip him into shape.... Right????? ha ha

Your sis is beautiful --just like you. Bet she could tell a few stories on you too (like the time she caught you with your boyfriend----uh oh).... ha ha

Love you,
Betsy

Thank you everyone for visiting and your comments! I know my sister is enjoying reading how everything thinks how cute she is - ha,ha!!

Michele - She is 8 weeks old and weight 8.4 pounds. I need to get some meat on her!

Margaret - great idea! I've been looking.....

Cassie - potty training is going okay. After 3 days, I would say she's going outside 70% of the time.

Leedra - you got that one right! :)

Kath - you are so sweet and funny! How cute that you had it marked down. Scout sends you big puppy smooches!!

Catherine - That is so sad about your husband's grandma's dog. It's not easy to lose a pet - so sorry to hear this! Hope you find a good dog for her soon!
