A little fall decorating and more elk

I've started to do a little fall decorating at the log cabin. I have to hit up Garden Ridge, Kohls and the local Farmers Market for more supplies.

I put a few pumpkins on top of the kitchen cupboards to keep all my birds company.

I had promised you some photos of Greg feeding the elk. Look how excited these ladies are!

I think they were developing a crush on him - I told them to back off! (They kept following him along the fence line even when he didn't have food...)

Besides, their boyfriend looked a little tough if you ask me....

Your cabin is absolutely beautiful inside - the pumpkins add a very cozy and warm touch. I guess you'll have to watch those elk now! I'm not sure I would want to tangle with the boyfriend though! Those are amazing pictures - thank you for sharing part of your unique and interesting life at the cabin.

I love your fall decorations. I love fall and all the decorations there are. I saw some beautiful white pumpkins at the Farmers market yesterday and didn't buy one! I'm still asking myself why? The elk are so beautiful.

Loving your fall nesting! Those elk following Greg reminds me of a time when hubbie and I were staying at a cabin in NC before we moved here. There were some swans on a fenced in lake. We brought some bread down to feed them and they folowed us all around the lake.

Beautiful pictures. The elk is very handsome and his females are so pretty. We don't decorate for autumn so much over here in England, but this year, I am going to do it. My American side is coming through bigtime this fall!

When I was at the mountains on Sat. morning, we stopped in at a Log Cabin open house. I thought of you as I walked through the front door. I left the place feeling an even greater attractions for that type of dwelling. Now, looking at your pictures, I am convinced that log homes are the coziest, most inviting of all homes, especially when they are located in a beautiful mountain location. Yours is all of that and more. Each of your pictures are so interesting and so outstanding. Can't wait to see the rest of your decorations. The elk and the humor were so enjoyable. Thank you!

I've been so busy lately working two jobs that I've been bad about visiting my blog friends. Love the pic of your cabin's diningroom. There is nothing as cozy as a log home! I'll be back again soon!

Wow...look at the rack on that big boy! (Not your hubby, the elk, hahaha).
How is the color at your cabin? Ours is about 55% or so..but now we have rain, wind and cold so I can't get out for more pictures. Hope the wind doesn't blow them all off before they get to 80% color!!

Nice decorating, Shelley! Fall is such a nice time of the year, isn't it? As for the elk, do you think they might have "imprinted" Greg as their parent? So now, of course, they are not going to ever leave you! Looks like a lot of fun feeding them, though :-) ~John

Elk are magnificent creatures for sure, but I'm thinking not much competition for you!! Your cabin is so warm and cozy. I knew you'd be in full decorating mode for Fall!

I've missed seeing you. With no wi-fi of my own up here in the boonies I just don't get around much any more. Now I have to go visit Scout's blog! Blessings, C

I like the way you're decorating the cabin for fall. I also think you're wise to be considered about the tough boyfriend of the elk.
