First Snowfall

I was disappointed to learn that I missed the first snowfall in Northern Michigan this year. This photo was taken last year in the early morning. I remember how the trees looked so beautiful with that light dusting of snow. Oh well - I have to admit I'm not really ready for winter yet!

This weekend we will be getting the cabin prepped for winter - a.k.a. putting away the lawn furniture and getting quotes from snow removal services. (I have to admit, I'm a little embarrassed at my list, especially when I see what my blogger friend Small Pines is doing to get ready for winter!) Maybe I should have Greg chop some firewood for our electric fireplace??

Well Shel---You won that one, didn't you???? Don't think we'll see snow 'til January---if we see any at all. You know me---I love snow, but am trying not to get too disappointed if you don't get any this year (like I was last year)....

Beautiful picture. I hope the next snow you get up there will be when you and Greg are there. Good Luck winterizing.

That's a shame that you missed the first snow, but I'm sure there will be lots more to enjoy.
Do you have to do anything to keep the water pipes from freezing?
That's funny about having Greg chop firewood for your electric fireplace.

Shelley, That is a fantastic view! :) O and if you want Greg to chop wood, at least use it for a bon fire with hot apple cider and cinnamon schnapps! mmmmm

If I had missed the first snowfall, I don't think I would described myself as being disappointed, I think "Lucky" would be closer to the word I would use! LOL I think we have different views on snow.

Absolutely gorgeous picture, Shelley! Living in Georgia, we don't get to see much snow...it's SOOO pretty! I can imagine that it gets kind of old after awhile, right?

Ha!! I think he should chop the wood too...just for the fun of it. :)
Winter? that is just crazy. IT is still 96 here and our a/c is running 24/7. I need to move from Florida. Do you have a spare room?

We heard the 'S' word on the news last night. Supposedly this weekend their is a chance of seeing a snowflake or two. I'm ready as I'll ever be for it just wish I didn't have to work.

Very very pretty Shelley. There is something about snow on a lake. We are suppose to have snow in the northern area of our state. Maybe your first snowfall is just around the bend!
