Cold temps at the cabin

Time is just flying by! Happy belated Holidays and New Years to all of you my dear blogger friends! Did you see the temperature above on my weather thermometer? It was -5 when I first woke up - ouch! Greg is hanging this up today. Ever since we've built our log cabin, we've become obsessed with the weather. Or maybe it's old age....

The birds have been flocking to our cabin like crazy. I love feeding the chickadees out of my hand - sometimes I want to close my hand on them and bring them inside and make them pets. (No, I'm not going to do this, I just THINK about it...ha,ha!)

Tomorrow I head back downstate, back to reality. I look forward to catching up with you on your blogs. Please let me know of any special posts I might have missed. Also, I need to announce a belated giveaway. Let's start the New Year with a bang!

That's freakin' cold Shelley!! The snow is so beautiful though. I think conversations about the weather and all of the gizmos that go with it are age appropriate for us, LOL.

Chickadees are my favorite bird. They're so friendly, always happy to see me. Love the pic.

I would also love to make all those critters my pets. I am sure Marvin would be happy to help you with the birdies.
Weather obsession=Old age. Sorry, but that is your warning sign. ;)
Happy New year to you and Greg...and the furry ones too.

Yup, that's a bit cool! Back in AZ now so our lows aren't close to yours. I have thought of another reason to be happy in Phx: wi-fi in my own place where I don't have to sit in a cold (or hot) car to go online...and where I can bloghop for hours. Yes!!

Happy New Year Shelley!!

It's cold and snowy here, too. We have been enjoying all of the wildlife and birds coming to our feeders! I have a sweet little female squirrel that eats out of my hands! Rocky doesn't like that very much!! LOL

I think it's neat that you can feed chickadees from your hand -- we've never tried that. I hope you keep those negative temperatures up there in Michigan!

You have been having a real hard time with the cold weather. We are having record highs here on the coast. I just keep waiting for a big change, but it hasn't come yet. I worry about the snow pack for summer water. Glad you cabin time has been good. - Margy
