We're leaving for the log cabin in the next hour or so. (I've been calling Greg at work every 30 minutes to tell him to please hurry up. Scout is getting upset and Marvin is ready to leave without him. Ha!)
Tomorrow, I am meeting a blogger friend from The Retirement Chronicles for lunch in Mackinaw City. This will make the fifth blogger friend I've met in person so far. Watch out - you could be next!
This past weekend we went to the Detroit Kennel Dog Club Show and Scout's brother won 2nd place in the Bernese Mountain dog puppy division! His name is Jet. (And at our last play date, he kept making out with Scout and I had to tell him to take it easy!) Here's a photo of Jet. Isn't he a handsome boy?
It was fun to see so many Bernese Mountain Dogs in one place.
I wanted to take this boy home with me but his owner said no.
I fell in love with this Anatolian Shepherd and decided I want one of these too! Greg dragged me away from the breeder, begging them not to answer my questions and to just ignore me. (I got their business card - ha!)
And finally, doesn't this sign crack you up?

Have fun, Shelley... I know you will.... Glad you are meeting Joan... She's another of my blog friends. She is SO funny ---and takes amazing pictures. I knew she was from Northern Michigan --so I wondered if you two had met...
Glad you made it to the dog show... Don't know why you didn't take them ALL home with you.... ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Have fun at you little cabin in the woods, Shelley! Those dogs are so gorgeous...but Scout is TOPS!:)
Gorgeous photos! I fully expect another puppy addition to be welcomed home soon. ;) I hope you have a fantastic weekend at the cabin -- if your weather has been anything like ours, you're going to have a blast!! :)
A nice long weekend at the cabin sounds like heaven. Hope you have some of the sunshine we have been getting here.

I hope you have a wonderful at the cabin (I'm sure you will!). Do you think Marvin could take another puppy in the family?
Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Hope you have a wonderful and cozy weekend.
Tell Jet that stuff is illegal in all states.
2nd place is great out of all those dogs, Great job, JET!
How fun (both the cabin and the dog show)! HB refuses to let me even attend a dog show. :)
Hope you have fun at the cabin! Such gorgeous dogs. I can see why you would like them so much. I like the fancy pink collar on the Anatolian shepherd. HA! :D
All of the dogs are just beautiful! I love how you have all your ducks in a row :>) I hope you have a wonderful weekend ♥
Can't wait, Shelley! Thanks for the shout out on your blog! Love your handpainted ducks on your shelf too.
Next time we will come and see your lovely cabin in person and you can come up to the U.P. to our log home to visit, too. See you tomorrow!
I'll bet it's warmer up there at the cabin than it is here right now. We've had freezing cold wind here. It's supposed to warm up this weekend though. Those dogs are beautiful, but I still think Scout's the cutest!
Blessings,
Marcia
They certainly are very splendid looking dogs. The ginger fur looks like it painted on just where it needs to go. I like the look of them because they look kind and yet spirited. They have gorgeous thick fur too. You are lucky to own such a fine dog and his brother is so splendid!
I like your ducks. My last post was about ducks too, coincidentally.
Blessings, Star
Jet is certainly a handsome guy! I can see why he'd want to make out with Scout, she's so cute. Those ducks make a great window decoration.
How fun to see all of them!! Glad you had a great time! And I bet that Anatolian Shephard was GORGEOUS!
Have fun at the Cabin...is Greg going to plant flowers in those planters up there again this year? Yes, I remember them. Those dogs are gorgeous!
What fun to have lunch with a blogging friend. I'd love to be next.
I am surpruised that Greg takes you to dog shows. I can only imagine what surprise you will share next with us. Should Marvin and Scout get ready for another playmate? Did you enter Scout in this show?
Have a wonderful time at the cabin.
LOVE that sign!!! I love to go to dog shows...and it always makes me want another "little one"!!
YES, I love the GS dog sign. I have a GS dog and love the breed. All of these dogs are beautiful, I can see why you were wanting them. Enjoyed the post, and I hope you enjoy your stay at your beautiful cabin.
Glad you are at the Cabin enjoying the cabin life! All the pups are beautiful. Give Marvin a scritch for me.
Ewwwwwwww LOTS of pretty pups! But I still think Scout is the cutest!
:) Karen
beautiful dog. the shepherd almost looks like a pyr. we have cabins like that around here too--a four million dollar one. just like gingerbread house. anyway hope you had fun!!
oh ..my dad's name was marvin, fancy that it should be a cats name. lovely cat.
Dog shows are so much fun to watch. You see so many interesting breeds. Hope you are enjoying the cabin right now. We had to had down to the States for a week with my mom, but will be going home in a week. Sometimes I feel like I don't know where I live, but having as much time at the cabin as possible makes all the city living bearable. - Margy
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
