Fun 4th of July

We've had numerous visitors, dogs running around, kids hitting badminton, people riding on ATVs and lots of kayaking going on. How was your 4th of July and what did you do?

We're staying up here another week and enjoying being lazy. My internet connection with my laptop card has been sporadic so I'm trying to make my blog rounds to all of you. This morning I"m at the coffee shop so I can crank out some emails. Miss you!

Here's some pics of what we've been up to...

Scout has become our lookout now on the dock. I don't have the heart to tell her that no freighters are going to be going by on our lake...

One of my good friends taking her dog Archie out for a kayak ride. By the way, Scout LOVED Archie, those two had a kissy fest during their entire visit.

My two new Adirondack chairs that got a lot of use from Greg and I. By the way, they were only $40 a piece at Christmas Tree Shop. Great deal!

My friend Lisa and her husband taking our ATV out for a spin. Her kids loved it too.

By the way, one of the best moments of the weekend was when my friend's little boy said to me "I love your log house! It's awesome!" Aww......!

What is really awsome (besides your log cabin) is SCOUT. They grow up so fast.

Scout continues to grow. Her eyes are so telling when you capture her on pictures. What fun it looks like you all have in your part of the world. I bet it is much cooler where you are then were we are...a real heatwave here. Loved the sincere compliment you received from the little one. They are the best kind. Great photos.

Looks idyllic! After the month we've had, I wish I were there! My FIL died suddenly and the very next day we found out my Mother has cancer! Our 4th of July was spent back home caring for my Mom and going through my In-Laws home. We did have a BBQ on Sunday but my heart just wasn't in it!

We head up to Montana next week (16th) and I think I will finally take a long, deep breath-my first in a while!

Scout just prettier all the time!

I'd love to take my dogs out in the kayak, but I think I need a bigger kayak to fit them in!

GREAT deal on the chairs!

Living in the forest always makes the 4th a little scary, even though it's technically a rain forest, and the bulk of the fireworks are getting set off at the water's edge. We were lucky this year; summer came late, a few days after the main festivities. Good thing, because an inland neighbor put on a really spectacular show. It was amazing to view, but could have had disastrous side effects if the weather hadn't still been damp!
