Game Night at the Cabin

I've gotten Greg's family (well now their my family, ha!) hooked on the game BOGGLE. Have you played this? If you have, then you know how many crazy words people try to make up and then get points for. Boggle does this to you!

Greg almost had me in fits over the word "Yaw." I was sure he was crazy....until I looked it up in the dictionary. Yep, it's a word. And he got the points for it. I think somebody is going to call me tomorrow and ask me for my spelling bee trophy back.

What are your favorite games to play with the family?

We play pinochle. A big old time favorite used to be trivial pursuit or pictionary.

Looks like a lot of family fun, Shelley! I like Scrabble and Pictionary, although we don't play games as often as I'd like. :D

UNO!!! Always while camping. You'd think we were all playing for money the way everyone takes it so seriously. But always a great time!

How neat, Shelley, to have family together for Game Night... I grew up playing all kinds of board games... I loved Monopoly, Scrabble, Dominos, etc...

We also played card games alot such as Hearts, Canasta, Bridge, etc....

Sounds like you all had a good time.
Hugs,
Betsy

It looks like so much fun. I miss the days when my family would get together and do that. Yahtzee was a big one, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Rummy, Pinochle.....

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Everyone wants to play Scrabble. I hate it because I always go for the long words instead of focusing on the double and triple squares. I always end up thinking I should have won because my words were better, but I always lose to those putting short words on special squares.

Game nights are so much fun. One of our family's favorites is Balderdash. We usually end up laughing until we are crying with that game. My mom and I love to play Scrabble. Wish we had more time to do it.

Hi Shelley,
I followed your blog a few years back as you were building the cabin and have recently re-started my own plus a shared quilting blog. Anyway, it is great to see what you have done with the cabin and to know that you survived the winter snows.

I laughed at your Boggle session as Mum and I used to play it a lot when she was alive. It brought back some good memories.
