But now I want to make another mix with your (my blog readers who aren't bored with me yet) favorite Christmas songs and the artist that sings the best rendition. For example - I like Bill Crosby's version of 'Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.' Please post YOUR SUGGESTIONS here. Once I compile them with your input - I think I should offer these as a GIVEAWAY - what do you think? Or maybe you are already able to download your own music and I'm behind the times??
I bought scrap booking supplies from Michaels to make the CD covers.
I do like my xmas stickers!

I was singing Christmas songs last night to Magoo... and White Christmas by Bing is a song I had in my head ...
I love love love TransSiberian Orchestra... I have downloaded quite a few songs on my I Pod...
I wanted to go see them last year here in LV.. but we were building the cabin and we couldn't go...
I love Johnny Mathis singing Christmas songs too...
and my all time favorite Christmas song is Oh, Silent Night...
CAN'T WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS!!
oh... and Little Drummer Boy from at least 30 years ago....
I need to run to ITunes now and go check it out...
See what you've done!!
Sandi - very amateur at best but thank you! Looking forward to your suggestion(s)!

watched this when I was little
sorry, me again..
It's Oh Holy Night...
not Oh, Silent Night.. it's been almost a year since I heard it last... lol.... No wonder I couldn't find it on You Tube..
Johnny Mathis sings it good and so does Mariah Carey.
Martina McBride - O holy night
Amy Grant - Breath of Heaven
Alan Jackson - Let it be Christmas
Just to name a few!
Bruce Springsteen's version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"
Brenda Lee-"Rockin around the Christmas Tree"
Irish Rovers-"Grandma got run over by a Reindeer"
Beach Boys-"Little Saint Nick."
What a great and thoughtful gift for your guest! You are so sweet. And you covers look great.
I have yet to find a version of my favorite song to download. "O Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" It is a song we sing at church but I can't seem to find it any where. I know it is out there because I have heard it on Christian radio.
I also love "Mary did you Know". I will see if I can find who sings this.
Anything Johnny Mathis for Christmas. I know you've been to Michael's. Have you ever been to Arnie's in Houghton Lake? The place is enormous! They have more scrap booking stuff than I've ever seen in any store, anywhere. Plus, they have a great custom shirtery with lots of 'up northy' stuff.
Cute idea! I'm sure they will love them.
Cathie
You crafty thing! They are cute!
I like most of the traditional Christmas song - especially the Amy Grant CD. I also like the Transiberian Orchestra - their instrumentals are awesome!
oh...Mannheim Steamroller is a favorite! What a great idea and its' exciting!!
My favorite Christmas song of all is O Holy Night. ahhh just reading the comments before I posted and notice that terri's favorite song is that too.
(I get chills when I hear the verse "fall on your knees and ...."
My favorites - oh geesh I like just about any Christmas song.
My ultimate favorites right now are
Vince Gill - Breath of Heaven and A Cradle In Bethlehem (but then again he could sing anything and I would like it).
Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song ie. Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
That is what I have to offer.
Oh I might steal your idea of making a CD for some of my family members.
wendy - those are good ones - thanks!!
74 wixy - all good especially Brenda Lee - but I don't think i can listen to grandma got run over by a reindeer again!
Brandi - let me know - thanks!!
Denise - thank you for letting me know about Arnies!!
Catherine - thank you - I hope so!
Bobbi - since I made that transiberian mix - I've been listening to it all week in my car!
Sandy - that is one of my absolute faves too!
Christy - i love Nat too!
This is one of those times I have to disagree with you, Sorry : (
In my opinion, because I love "Meet Me In St Louis" (and that is my hometown) no one sings,
"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" like Miss Judy Garland!!!
I hate to admit this but I am already listening to Christmas music!! I also love "Colorado Christmas" by the "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band" and Emmylou Harris.
Amy Grant's "Mary's Song" and I love Wynonna Judd & Kenny Roger's "Mary Did You Know!"
Connie
I guess Amy's song is actually "Breath of Heaven".
When my husband was in his 20's (a very long time ago since he is 53 now) he recorded all of his dad's old record of Christmas songs onto cassette tapes.
If you ask our kids, the older stuff is their favorites because that's what they grew up with! Mitch Miller, Bing Crosby, Ray Coniff Singers and so on...
Now they also like Mannheim Steamroller (we saw them up in Omaha, when we live in Lncoln, NE 19 years ago, before they caught on with the rest of the country). Oh my goodness! I am getting SO excited now! Look what you've done!
Connie
You are so clever :D and talented!
***Vince Gill-Let There Be Peace on Earth.
connie - good stuff! thanks!!
jen - I'm not talented - just pretending. :-0 Good choice on song by the way!!
Shelley, We have a huge collection of Christmas music. AND--we've been making Christmas CD's for 3 yrs. This will be Volume IV. We try to do a good combination of oldies and some new ones. We also so some religious and some secular. Our family/friends look forward to their CD each year. We mail it out about Dec. 1st--and tell them to enjoy it all month. It's fun to do them!!! We use iTunes and we have a program for the covers. Email me (betsyadams@mac.com) and I'll give you any info you need. Good Luck!
We love the Transiberian orchestra! We've seen them twice in concert in Grand Rapids. It's such an awesome show.
Great gift ideas for friends and family. I'll have to remember that one.
Shelley-
I love the old classic singers at Christmas so I am going with It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas by Bing Crosby.
Scrapbooking is the combination of photos and words to tell your story. You are a scrapbooker by virtue of blogging. We know you are a great photographer! So you are already talented and successful!
I was thinking about making cds for my girlfriends. Great minds do think alike! Love the covers.
I will think about my favorite songs.
Have a nice weekend.
