Headed to the Log Cabin

I am headed up to the log cabin early this morning with Marvin the cat in tow. I'm sure Marvin can't wait to get to the cabin and see how many times he can climb up the Christmas tree or beat up the Old World Santas! Greg will be up later tonite once he picks up my stepson. We just found out one family member is sick, another is changing plans, etc. - so we went from 14 people to 3. Looks like it will be just me, Greg and my stepson. Does anyone know where I can get a defrosted turkey? (Denise, can we come over to your log cabin? Ha, ha!) Either way, it's our first Thanksgiving at our log cabin so no matter what we eat, it will be special.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving my friends!

Did I mention I have an appointment with this pine tree on our property?

If only you weren't so far from me, I would come and take up an empty seat at your table. Then I would beg for a tour of your cabin and ask you zillions of questions!

Have a great Thanksgiving albeit different than originally planned. Can you find a fresh turkey at your grocery? No defrosting needed.

Surely you are NOT going to cut that tree down. Maybe you mean this is the one you are going to put the bird's treats on.

Sandi - thank you! Maybe I can find a fresh turkey - thanks for the suggestion!

AnnaSam - the same to you!!

Leedra - no,no - I wouldn't cut down my precious pine tree. But I would decorate it! Happy Thanksgiving my friend!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I know you will have a memorable day. Enjoy!

Yesterday we realized we hadn't put our turkey in the frig to thaw yet. I ran to the store and luckily found another Butterball not frozen. True story.

Life is funny, isn't it? We plan and worry and then OOPPSS the plan flies out the window! I pray that the 3 of you will have a Thanksgiving to be remembered for years to come! I was gonna suggest the fresh turkey - but someone beat me to it!! Hope it is fabulous - and that Marvin does not molest ole santa too much!

I know you will have a fabulous Thanksgiving because you will be with family (even though not as many as you planned) and at you log home!

I can't wait to see pictures of your decorated pine tree and from you Thanksgiving celebration.

ohhhh sorry to hear the change of plans. BUT..you can still cook a turkey--just leave it out today and cook it tomorrow..no biggie. You only need a small one.
WELL, you get to enjoy the cabin all alone and have a special day with yourselves.

I'd opt for a fresh turkey breast. Whatever you decide, have a wonderful Thanksgiving at the cabin.

Happy Thanksgiving. Our table will include just three, too. There is more to eat per person and less dishes with 3 than 14.
