Headed Up North

I am headed up to our log cabin finally! After 17 agonizing days away, I am ready to hit the road! We should be up there for a week and I am so happy. (Well taking down all those Christmas decorations won't make me happy!)There are a few exciting events going on - a winter festival, a snowshoe hike and some skiing planned. Maybe even renting snowmobiles. Hoping the drive goes okay since we're under a winter storm warning. Check out all the snow in our area by looking at the snowman cam.

This photo is dedicated to Jessica at Five Pines who loves to snowmobile! Jessica - I think we'll have plenty of snow for you in Gaylord!

Oh, wow! That sounds like so much fun! I want me some snow around here! Don't think I'll ever get it living in the deep South! That's why I'm so excited about our trip to Colorado! I can hardly wait to see and touch that white stuff! Of course, I'm still very nervous about skiing for the first time! Have fun!

Lucky you!
My goodness...what a lot of snow! - I don't somehow think my little Smart car would cope somehow!! - Took her out in just a little dusting of snow down here in the south of England and she couldn't cope!!
Have fun!

Shelly, it sounds as if you'll have a wonderful time up at the cabin (other than taking down the Christmas decorations). Have a safe trip up there and stay warm once there.

My wife and I would love to have a log cabin, and northern Michigan is a great place. We wish you a safe trip.

Snowmobiling is fabulous! I can only remember renting them in Colorado on ski trips! Michigan looks fabulous and my dream is to have a log home again. I had one in Washington State near Seattle, but it did not last long enough!

my husband and i used to talk of log cabin living way back when we were first married(22 yrs)and recently my darling hubby has been showing me countless photos of log cabins. we had a dream, victorian house in the country of usa and log cabin in canada. we are now living in victorian farm house on 7.24 acres in the country in tn. one dream down and one to go.
i don't know that i have thick enough blood to live in canada but if we could have our home here and a log cabin there, i would feel it was do-able.
so happy for you that you are living your dream.
i voted for you to change your name. i like "living our log cabin dream"

Lucky you! I'm glad your feeling better and on your way to doing what you love to do! Take down the Christmas stuff--BUT head out and find some "love" things to decorate your cabin--you could leave the greenery up inside--intertwine some red heart lights.

You're teasing me with that photo! We've gotten some snow today but we want more. I think we are going to Baldwing to snowmobile tomorrow. I rather go to Gaylord or the U.P. but we are limited on time. Let me know when you head out on some sleds!

Have a great week at the cabin and tell all the birds I said hello.
