Log cabin puzzle & going bananas

Dawnie of Dawnies Life by the Sea has been talking about puzzles and it got me thinking. I think it would be fun to put together some puzzles when we're up at the log cabin, but how about making one from one of our photos to make it more personalized?! I found several places that do this, check out: Positively Puzzled, Laser Novelty Gifts, and Jigsaw to Order. Prices are reasonable and you can preview how your photo would look like I've posted above. I can't wait for it to arrive! I'm also going to order extra to have as memento gifts for our guests. So if you come over, you may get a puzzle besides being told to remember your slippers as the hardwood floors get cold at the cabin!

I also wanted to thank Wixy at Wixy's gone bananas for one of his top banana awards. Mine was for the "Abe Lincoln eat your heart out" award. Wixy has a great blog and great taste in blogging friends. Be sure to check out his site!

This is neat, not a 5 minute puzzle either. Looks like all those snow covered trees may take a little while. Going to frame and hang in the cabin?

A puzzle of your cabin sounds like a neat idea and it would make a great memento of a visit.
Congratulation on your award.

Shelley, I never heard of making a jigsaw puzzle from one of our pictures. How neat!!! That would be great Christmas presents also --don't you think???? I may just have to look into what these companies offer.

Thanks for a great idea.
Hugs,
Betsy

Puzzles....did my first this year in about 15 years or so. Was absolutely SHOCKED at how hard it was when I first started it. But then once I was about 30% into it...the brain cells were assimilating pieces at a rapid speed. But I was worried at first. Will definatley keep doing a new one every couple of months. Guess that's a part of my brain that I don't normally use....and want to keep it limber.

That's a swell idea.Shelley, what is the name of the place that makes the wooden signs. You had it posted several months ago, but I can't find it. Also,Not sure if you saw my previous comment, but so glad you are feeling better.I would have sent you a get well wish & prayer if I had known sooner.(One of the disadvantages of being cheap & not having my own wi-fi,)

Congrats on your top banana award-
I guess I should send Cliff some of that bread I bake now. LOL

You should have that puzzle together in no time, since you built your house; you know where all the pieces go.

I looked into what you should expect if headed upstate.

It won't matter whether in Detroit, or Gaylord, you're gonna get snow either way! Gaylord could actually get several inches, depending on what happens with lake-enhanced snow bands.

That's a cool idea. Let us know how it turns out. I am very puzzle challenged but my husband and son are ace puzzlers. I cheer them on and usually pick out the puzzle but that's about the extent of my talent. I wish I had that talent but I don't.

Congratulations on your award. BTW - I gave you an award on my latest post, too. Stop by and pick it up when you have a moment.

Have a good day!

I appreciate that you shared the puzzle sites. My mother does jigsaw puzzles every winter. I am going to order a personalized one for her. I loved the idea of having them made as gifts for your guests. What a memorable gift.

Shelley,
The puzzle is a great idea. My sister gave my husband a gift certificate for Christmas that she had cut up like a puzzle and he had to put it together to figure out what it was. She then handed him another copy. He is so hard to buy for and she loves to give him a hard time! I would love to paint your cabin sometime.

Cathie
