We are headed up to the log cabin tomorrow morning. We usually like to bring a movie or two to watch at night. Especially since we only get 2 t.v. channels up there. The loft is the perfect place - we lay out a blanket and some pillows, I pop some popcorn and then we dim the lights.
Anyways, so here's the movie Greg picked and thinks we're going to watch. (Did you doubt it was going to be an action movie?!)
But Marvin & I picked "On Golden Pond." By the way, thanks to those of you who reminded me of this movie and how the loons were in there. I can't wait to see this again with fresh eyes! (FYI - I put the Amazon link below in case you would like to get this too.) Are there any other movie classics you would recommend for the log cabin?
P.S. I have a blogger friend coming to visit me on Saturday for lunch. Can you guess who it is?!

I am guessing Betsy, cuz Jen and Cassie and I are not close - and these are the only blogger friends of yours I know so far!!
Enjoy On Golden Pond - boy that grinning cat picks out movies as well?? wow!!!!!!!
have fun!
That sounds like a perfect way to spend an evening at the cabin. I'm not much of a one for action movies, but "On Golden Pond" is always a favorite. Have fun!
It has been a long time since I watched that movie. I thought of it though when you talked about the Loons the other day. Well, I actually listened to them too.
I was one of the bloggers that mentioned On Golden Pond. And because your blog reminded me, I rented it and watched it last night. The loons play a HUGE part in the movie.
Hugs,
Penny
Poor Greg! Out voted two to one.
I bought On Golden Pond this past summer from the $5 stack at Walmart.
I would say Betsy and George, but they are way too far away to get there by lunchtime.

Penny- I do remember you telling me that and I'm so grateful! I can't believe I don't remember the Loons, but then again I think it's been 15+ years since i've seen it!
Joated - oh I'll still let him play his movie - but after mine! ha,ha!
Leedra - great deal! The surprise guest lives a lot closer...
Guess I'm going to have to rent that movie and watch it again. It's been years since I've seen it but I remember how I enjoyed it the 1st time. Have a great time at the cabin. -Sandy

Connie - I have that "Alone in the Wilderness" movie. Have watched it 10 times! Love it!

Dawnie - definitely a bittersweet movie!
Oh my goodness, is Bill coming to see Marvin? I haven't seen 'On Golden Pond' in a long time. I sure hope that your guest is nice and doesn't track snow through your cabin. ;)

Well --it must be Jessica!!!! Thanks for all of the clues!!!

Betsy
I haven't a clue who is coming to visit but I wish it was me.
I have never seen On Golden Pond from start to finish. It's too sad but I may check it out the next time it's on cable, just to see the loons.
Have a great time!
Your movie night sounds great! I like yours and Marvin's choice! :)
Enjoy your movie!
And I have no idea who is coming, but my first thought was Betsy. Have a great time with the mystery blogger! :)

Everytime I come to this blog, I think of "On Golden Pond" I love watching Katherine Hepburn calling the loons.
I have no guess as to who might be you at your log cabin...only wish it was ME!!
Enjoy the movies and lunch with your blogger guest.
How about "The Lakehouse" - Sandra Bullock & Keanu Reeves. Enjoy your lunch and movie!
Good guesses - it's Denise from Vintage Log Cabin (she's listed under my log dweller links) that's coming to visit!
I'll admit I wish it were Betsy and George coming to the cabin for lunch.
well, how about Flawless and
Legends of the Fall....
Have you seen "A River Runs Through"? It was filmed in Bozeman, MT. My best friend has a vacation home there. That is where I go to get my "country" fix. It is God's country!!! Such a difference from Southern California.
Anyway, just a thought as to a movie you might enjoy watching.
Let me know if you get a chance to watch it! Enjoy your cabin!!!!! Karen
2 movies you might enjoy are Wilderness Family and Wilderness Family 2. They leave their city life and live in a cabin in the mountains... really good movies! I have them both and love watching them over and over with the grands.
