You know how everything tastes better on a barbecue after you've been outside all day? Well I also think I sleep better at the log cabin after a day of trekking in the great outdoors. Something so exhilarating about breathing in that fresh air, seeing all of nature's beauty and then coming back to my cabin retreat. When I get into bed I think I have the best mattress in the world (I really don't know if I do - but it certainly feels like it) and then as I hear the night time music of the woods - the peeper frogs and crickets (this would be summer time) - I drift off into the best sleep of my life. And hopefully Greg doesn't start to snore because then I contemplate picking up my pillow and...well never mind! But if the cops come to your house, you don't know nothin!!
This is what northern Michigan is like.I think I need more pillows....

I just loved the Androscoggin story!!! (Our family is well known for dark humor) Thanks for the link.
The bed in the cabin does indeed look inviting. How wonderful to get a restful sleep.
Your room looks cozy and I bet you do get a lot of great rest in that bed!

I love the red floral against the log walls. I love the night time music of the woods, too. The windows open and a warm brezze. I can not wait for summer!

Hey Shelly,
Thanks for the link to my rooster obit. Sure was peaceful around here this morning without him crowing at 3 a.m. I got to sleep in till 7. That's when the goat started bellowing to be milked! Who needs alarm clocks when you have animals?
I just love the color red with all the natural wood. I use a lot of it at my place as well. And I totally agree about being able to sleep better with all the sounds and smells of nature. That's one of the first things I noticed when we moved to our cabin in the woods. One night I was about to wake Jim up to tell him to quit snoring so loud when I realized it was me making all that racket! -Sandy
Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate it:)
I sleep better to if I've exercised that day, glad you have the cabin to relax in:)

I think I could sleep REALLY WELL there too! Your reasoning makes perfect sense to me.....your bedroom looks cozy and relaxing! I love the colors against the log walls!

GIRL! Check out my master bedroom!!!! You have GREAT taste in bedding!!!
We have frogs all year long here in So Cal. To the point where they become . . . annoying . . . sorry!
SNORING? Men don't do that! Ask them! They swear they don't!!!
HUGS! karen
I agree the red floral against the log walls is gorgeous. I love pillows and more is always better. Except the extras are a pain to remove from the bed at night.
All that fresh air, of course you sleep well! sounds lovely, think I will go drift off myself right now! nighty night!
I love the red on the bed, perfect for a log cabin.
WOW, the rooster story was great! I got a good laugh to start my day!
This past weekend when we met up with our friend Rich, he suggested making us a headboard for our bed since we mentioned we're wanting to get rid of our 25 year old water bed soon. I have already ordered new bedding and will pick it up when we are in West Yellowstone this summer.
I don't think one can ever have TOO many pillows!
Connie
Yeah, I would sleep better there too! Lovely!!
Your bedspread is lovely,.. what a great color! Back when i used to live summers at our log cabin here in the Adirondacks I always slept better. My bed was an old "spool" bed with a board bottom and an old mattress,... but ooohhhhh,... the windows opened right out to the pond and those night sounds were such a lullaby. I miss those days (nights!).
You are one very fortunate lady!! The way you described it all, sounded like the perfect description for a GREAT night's sleep, not to mention your cozy, inviting looking bedroom decor. You know what? I don't even feel sorry for you that you have to deal with your husband's snoring.
I think I could easily sleep my life away in that cozy cabing of yours! LOL! I'll be sure to hop on over to the blogs you mentioned...thanks a bunch!
Of course I love this view!! This is what Michigan is all about!!
The mailman brought me the picture of my redbarn!!!! It's even more beautiful in person!
Thank you!!
Oh so lovely!
I bet you do sleep well with no more 'dreaming' of a log cabin. :)
My lips are sealed. I think anyone would sleep great in those beautiful surroundings!
Hugs,
Cathie
Wayne and I feel the same way about sleeping at our cabin. Our bed is two old twins pushed together to make a king (sort of). They came with the cabin and probably came from the thrift store before that. But they are more comfortable than all of our new fancy mattresses in the town condos. I could use a good rest right about now. I've been in town for about two weeks and my sleep patterns are all screwed up. - Margy
Shelley, we've been sleeping with the windows open for the last few nights and I've been enjoying it so much! I'm sleeping SO soundly! LOL
All of that will come to a screeching halt once the nighttime lows are up in the 70s. At that point we slam the windows shut and turn on the A/C.
Shelley ~~ I too love my bed, so much more now a days than I ever did before. Dont know what thats all about but I've been sleeping like a rock.
Your bed looks oh so cozy and inviting a great place for Sweet Dreams.
Hugs ~ Connie xox
I love the bed in the cabin! You're right.....I didn't see nothin'!!! lol!
Love, Joy =D
Thanks for all the fun links. I was wondering why on earth you would be hearing frogs...then I read it would be summer (o: Love the colors of your bedroom. Pure and simple in there. My hubby was snoring so loud last night...it made me pretty grouchy. Finally I turned my reading light on and started reading. Might as well do something you like if you are going to be awake anyway (o:
I am totally a pillow fanatic. We have six on our bed, and I was just thinking that I can't wait until we move because I have four more to add to that at the other house.
I have a hard time sleeping with hubby...While at my sis' I put a fan on the night stand right next to my head..it helped! Too many nights I had to leave the room ...well every night...when we were younger..now it's all fixed, we sleep in separate rooms, hahah..the benefits of aging...
it's great.
Your bedroom looks cosy. That red is such a very warm colour. Good grief! Do you still have all that snow?
Awww...Thanks for mentioning Charli and Me. I always sleep better after a day outside too. It's the fresh air and I think the feeling of being a kid again. I know what you mean about the snoring LOL and if the cops come to your house you don't know nothin either LOL
