Outdoors at the Log Cabin

The weather has been fantastic the past few days at the log cabin. Today is sunny and 60 degrees. Greg is driving up this afternoon to share the rest of this lovely weekend with me. I plan on making him some ribeye steaks, garlic cheddar mashed potatoes and corn casserole. I wanted to share some of the outdoors with you.

Here's a ladybug that Marvin the cat tried to eat! I was actually able to get this out of his mouth unharmed.

A view of the lake shoreline....

A lovely cattail......

Great pics - as usual!

What is that red bush/tree/shrub in the corner of the picture of the shoreline? Beautiful even without leaves!

Shelley, it sounds like you will be having a nice weekend. It looks like most of the snow has melted.
My sister-in-law is headed home to Michigan next week after being gone for 6 mos and she is hoping for some nice temps. (she is in Prudenville).
We are supposed to warm up here next week. Sure would be nice.
Your dinner sounds yummy.

Nice photos, Shelley! Hope you have a great weekend. We're having about the same weather out this way -- sunny, around 60 degrees, maybe even 70 tomorrow. Enjoy! :-)

Looks like things are warming up and greening up there. It is snowing here today....lots of moisture...we will look like Ireland when the sun finally comes out (o:
No wonder the bug was so shinny.

I'm glad the weather is nice for you this weekend. It will be for us too and it will be time to start doing yard work for the in-laws.

Good photos and a good save of the lady bug.

What time did you say dinner was? Sounds sooo good. Glad you saved the ladybug! The yellow ones have seemed to take over our lake home. I don't like sharing my bed with them though. Hope you have a great weekend!:}

I'm glad you were able to rescue the lady bug. I bet Marvin was disappointed. I love the reflection of the trees on the water in your photo. Beautiful.

Yum. Next time you are cooking, let us know what time to show up for dinner, ok?
Loved the shots you took.
We woke up to 8 inches of snow this morning, and it is still snowing at 4pm. GROAN.
We had high 60's for 4 days straight and I cleaned one garden out and raked most of the lawn...and now this.
It better melt quick before I get too weepy.
