Cabin in the wilderness

Doesn't it look like our log cabin is in the deep wilderness in this photo?? I love all the greenery but I think we need to trim some things up.

That path down to the lake is very steep. I found this out as I was walking down toward our partially completed dock and then tripped, fell and rolled down the path almost impaling myself on one of Greg's dock stakes! It wasn't pretty!

This is the chipmunk that was laughing at me as I was pulling leaves out of my hair. One consolation....at least the neighbors couldn't see me....YET! Ha,ha!

LOL! Sorry, I couldn't help but chuckle a little!! Glad you didn't hurt yourself. It would've served that chipmunk right if you would have rolled right over him!

I wouldn't trim much of that up. The greenery is what makes me jealous of your pictures!

Nice photo Shelley - Is the tree that's right in the center (blocking the path and your cabin) coming down? Also, is the blog's winter header coming down for a nice, new summer one? :)

Yes, the cabin has a very nice setting!
I've heard that about chipmunks! They laugh while they steal your flower bulbs!

I'm glad you didn't get hurt. Chipmunk laughter fades quickly. :) Perhaps a handrail along the path might help? Or a future project to build stairs?

Well, my goodness - take better care of yourself!! I have missed you these past weeks - can't wait to read back and get caught up. LOVE the photo - it does look like you are deep in the woods! glad you are OK and didn't squish that poor critter!

I can see why you love to go there and spend time at the lake. I feel the same way!!!
Isn't it peaceful to be on the water and cozy in the cabin?
I just love it.

It looks steep! Sounds like some kind of another project for Greg to me . . . (hehehe)
Silly chipmunk. But I gotta say - I was kind of chuckling as I read the post. Course by then, I knew you were OK so it was all right!
GLAD YOU DIDN"T DROP THE CAMERA!!!! Holy cow!
Have a great day!! Karen

Ouch on that fall glad nothing's broken...the little fluff ball is cute! I live in the WOODs, no lake, and it doesnt matter how much we trim it will always be woodsy...We keep reclaiming the same right of way over and over as mother nature tries to erase our tracks.

Thank goodness you are okay!! It looks to me like the chipmunk was crying for you instead of laughing at you. What a gorgeous place you and Greg have!! Someday I think you should posts lots of pictures. Your photography just amazes me!!

Oh no and OUCH. Wow I didn't realize how steep the cabin was from the lake. Hope that you aren't sore for too long. And if it makes you feel any better it totally sounds like something I would do. Okay I know it doesn't make you feel any better but I do sympathize very much with you.

Hi Shelley:
I don't think I would touch a thing, it looks so beautiful. Unless, it's blocking your view of the lake. I can see how steep it is from that picture. I thought I am the only one that does stuff like that...shoot I fall in my own yard, trip over a sprinkler head.

Stupid chipmunks! Glad you are okay.
I tripped in front of the public library going into it as there were about 20 people out front. Talk about being humiliated. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Oh my gosh...be careful. Is there a way you can put some steps or something in? Your cabin looks lovely. I think I would leave it just like it is. That little chipmonk is so cute! You take the most amazing pictures.

Isn't that the way when we fall? Far more concerned that someone may have seen us than that we might have been injured.

I knew I would come over here and find you at the cabin. Wasn't expecting you to take a tumble though with a Chip or Dale as a single audience! I bet you were holding that camera high and free of being hurt!

Pretty in your neck of the woods too!

Enjoy your weekend Shelley!

I like this view of your log cabin, but I am sorry that you took a tumble when going down to the lake. I'm glad you we're hurt and that you got the great picture of the chipmunk.
