What's Missing?

Do you see what's missing? I seriously need to get an umbrella for this table. I just received an email from Garden Ridge that their umbrellas are on sale for $39! So guess where I'm headed....
All the cashiers wave to me now when I come in!

Additionally, there is something else missing at the log cabin! A Bernese Mountain dog! (Greg, do you hear me?!)

The breeder had contacted us about a new litter but all the females are spoken for. I kind of have my heart set on a female (her size, girls pee nicer than boys, logic like that). But when the pups are 4-6 weeks old I can go visit them.....and you know what that means......hmmmm......

Shelley,
Girl dogs do pee nicer than boy dogs and they are easier to train. What cute dogs!

Awe Shucks, Shelley... When you asked what was missing, I thought you were going to say ME... Darn!!!! ha ha

You'll love eating and just sitting out on the deck --and yes, you do need an umbrella....

Can't wait to see your new puppy!!! Beautiful dogs... Wow!

That's a good price for an umbrella. Have to laugh that all the cashiers know you now. Spending a little time in there, are you? lol.
Beautiful picture of the dogs. Will you have to wait until the next litter?

The dogs are so cute, you need one of those and your log cabin will be complete.

I love Garden Ridge just wish they were a lot closer than the 2 hour drive we have to make to the nearest one.

The puppies are adorable. If it were me, I would probably get there and fall in love with a little boy and take him anyway. :)

Hope you have a great weekend!

I know what might happen! You will probably find even a boy puppy too irresistable to pass up! You'd better start thinking up boy puppy names!

Okay! My son Charles doesn't even HAVE a blog so I don't know why I was signed in as him in my comment. At least I caught it early on and yours was the only comment attributed to him instead of me!

The green patio table is so attractive. I can just picture you sitting there early in the morning, with hot cup of coffee, and perhaps waving to your neighbor. As for the puppies...I know exactly what happens when one goes to visit a new litter of puppies...it is all over. Suddenly a male puppy will be perfect in your mind. Hopefully in Greg's mind too.

I want a garden ridge also. They would surely know me if I were lucky enough to have one in this lil 'ol town!!
You are right about female dogs...Ozzie pees on everything. My potted flowers for heavens sakes. BUT...the good thing we found out about boy dogs, is they like women better and our female Cocoa, follows coach around like he is a strip of bacon. So, if you get a boy, it will be YOUR dog!!!!
Have a great day!!

What's missing is me and my coffee mug! hee hee.... I have to keep my umbrella on my deck table folded in most of the time due to the breeze (lots of wind on the hill) but if you face the west it's great for that late afternoon heat/shade. Love the smile on the larger dog's face.

I think that both an umbrella and mountain dog would make terrific additions to your lovely log cabin!

Don't even go see those puppies. You will lose yourself in the cuteness and bring home a little boy. For all the reasons you mention and many more, you definitely want a female. Our Golden Girls will attest to that.

When you look at those little guys, imagine them full grown and wrapping themselves around the legs of your guests in an embarrassing manner! You get the idea, 'nuff said.

I always kid my husband that I just want to go "look" but we all know that is impossible! Hope you get your new puppy soon! Home is not home without one (or two or, for that matter, three as at our house)!

ohhh those dogs are adorable! I tell ya though Shelly, I dont know what your work schedule is like but i'm losing some of my flexibility. I've watched my sons puppy twice this month for over a week at a time and its exhausting! I come home as often as i can to let him out, I crate him when we are not home. I have such guilt when I have to crate him. I go to the goodwill stores to buy as many cheap stuffed animals as I can because of the chewing puppies do. My house is a constant pile of ripped animals, stuffing..etc! BUT..I love him to death...

Catherine - That's what I need - a pup easy to train! :)

Penny - me too! I'm going to love that pup to pieces!

Betsy - why I did forget something - it was YOU!!! LOL!! Come visit me anytime...

Jane - you should see how much Marvin loves dogs - he will be happy for sure!

Denise - thank you! (I assume you mean the pups - lol!)

Ginger - I will probably have to wait till the next litter which will be fall. I've been on this list now for close to 2 years. I really like this breeder - she's very reputable so I don't want to settle for anything less. I have been checking the bernese rescue groups too. Hopefully soon....

Boating Break - I agree - the cabin will be complete with the dog in the log! :-)

Debbie - that's what I'm afraid of...one of those boys will probably win my heart...I don't know how much willpower I have! LOL!

April - while hubby was "thinking" about it - I put us on the list. So I told him we are committed - LOL!! He'll love that dog (he was asking for a hunting dog but I know he'll love this pup just as much. You should see him play w/ our cat - it's cute.)

Rondell - I've been looking at names but I'll probably need everyone's input! :-)

Kath - I'm thinking Marvin the cat would prefer a girl too! LOL!~

Connie - LOL! I was wondering who Charles was! I tried clicking on the profile!

Judy - I'm a softie for a puppy!!

Busy Bee - you've given me food for thought! Let's see how crazy those boy puppies are over me when I go to see them! Come to think of it - Marvin the cat loves me 10 times more than the hubby...at least he makes me think that! LOL!

Cedar - at mid afternoon is when we need that umbrella! Come over - I'll make you hazelnut coffee! :)

Cam - thank you! Glad you agree!

NC (Carolyn) But I've been waiting so long....sigh....I'll just enjoy photos of your golden girls~!!

Coralie - I agree - a house is not a home without one!

Dawnie - the good thing is I work at home so the pup will be with me. Plus my hubby has the ability to take him/her to work with him at the office. That dog is going to be spoiled rotten! That's so nice that you help your son out! I bet that dog loves you so much!!

Shelley, I hope you got the right umbrella fitting perfectly to your patio set, and I also hope you'll find the dog that fits perfectly to you (& the log cabin and Greg..) ;-)

Shelley,

I agree...an umbrella would be nice for the patio table! I love Garden Ridge!

And those are the cutest breed of dogs! I think one of those dogs (a female...so you won't be outnumbered there)....would be the perfect addition! :)

Hope you have a great weekend!

I have a feeling we will be picking boy names.

Yes on the umbrella. Those puppies are very cute. That would be fun cause I could hear stories about the puppy without cleaning up after it (o:

Hey Greg, are you listening to your wife. These additions would be so wonderful to the cabin.

Those dogs sure are a pretty breed. What does Marvin think of sharing you with a puppy? I'm glad to hear that you have such a good rapport with the cashiers at the store!

Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that we have snow on the ground in Sault Sainte Marie! I am SO bummed!

Judy said...

You definitely need both the umbrella and the puppy!! I prefer females too! How is Marvin going to like the new addition to your family?

Shelly,
I have both male and female dogs, it is easy to love either.

What color umbrella did you get?

I LOVE BMDs. My doctor has one and she brings it to work every day! Her office is in our small local hospital, but they don't mind. They have a therapy dog program anyway, so I regularly see dogs there.

Hope you get your Berner soon!
