Amended Giveaway for 2nd Place!

Hi there! I guess I made the puppy naming guess too easy so I won't drag this out! Froggi Donna guessed correctly that my puppy's name will be "Scout." Congratulations Donna!! Please email your address to shelleyupnorth at gmail dot com. This name is from one of my favorite books - 'To Kill A Mockingbird.'

I do want to give out more prizes. Maybe two more. It's a surprise! I'm amending the 2nd place giveaway cuz it's my blog and I want more winners!

  1. Please list on this post a cute dog's name - it could be your current pet or past pet. Can be a family member's pet too. One name only.
  2. Must have a blog. US & Canadian residents only.
  3. Deadline to enter is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. Winners determined by me!

Thank you and good luck!

OK Shelley! I'm listing my female Shih-tzu's name of Jorja (pronounced like the state). I love the name, and knew if we ever got another dog after we had to put our precious cocker spaniel Chloe to sleep, I would name her Jorja.
So that's my entry!
Can't wait for more pictures of Miss Scout. I NEVER would've thought of that name! What are the odds . . .
Congratulations to Donna!

Well I would have to say Snoopie. That was my childhood dogs name.
I love the name Scout for a dog how cute is that.

"Drunk".... she's gone on to doggie heaven now but years ago I had a little red daschund girl who we adopted. She was already named Drunk. It seems that she was the runt of the litter and staggered around a lot when she was little. Did you know our first President, George Washington had a dog named Drunkard? Anyhow the name stuck and she became "Drunkie"...

Even though I am not a dog person... I did have dogs in my past (shhh don't tell, it will ruin my reputation). When my daughter was little we had a Springer Spaniel we named "Mowgli" from "The Jungle Book" it fit him perfect, he was a wild dog. We always named our pets after Characters or people. We had a cat named Maleficent, the witch from "Sleeping Beauty" we called her Millie for short.

I think Scout will be a great name for your little pup!

Scout is a wonderful name for your girl! Perfect in so many ways. I'm a kitty person so no dog names although my neice has a pup named Stella!

Have a safe trip!

I love the name Scout. She looks like a 'Scout'. :) When we were kids, my grandma had a little dog that we all loved. He must of had a little shih-tzu in him. His name was 'Sniffles'. I still smile when I remember how he use to follow us everywhere.

Congrats to Donna, that is a great name and will fit very well. I currently have 2 dogs...I literally rescued 7 puppies from the side of the road left to starve! I found homes for 5 of them...and we were left with 2 females. I named them Annie Boo Bear and Flossy Longhair! I wanted them to have "wilderness/explorer" type names since I found them "in the wilds". These pups survived by eating ripe persimmons that had fallen to the ground, along with pine nuts! They still eat pine nuts, they can strip a cone as fast as a squirrel!

My very first dog as a child was a female beagle, her name: Trouble.
AND she always found it.
My dad accidentally backed over her in the driveway one morning and my parents immediately thought she was dead because her intestines had appeared to come out via her mouth...it turnes out she had got into the garbage the previous evening and ate leftover spaghetti. She lived a few more troubled years after that.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly, Shelley, but I entered my Shih-Tzu's name, Bella, yesterday, I believe. Well, we, also, had another Shih-Tzu named Gizmo. Hope I didn't overstep my boundaries!

I KNEW Donna was going to win! Good for her! I love the name Scout!

Your puppy is SO amazingly cute... my brother's father-in-law has a bernese and he is such a joy to be around. And so sweet! Scout is an adorable name, too, and will suit her so well. Can't wait to see more photos. :)

Also wanted to pop over and say a hello! I ended my last blog (Waiting for Vermont) and have now begun the new one, New England Girl (http://www.newenglandlove.blogspot.com). I'm hoping to get back into checking your blogs everyday! Hope you'll pop over and visit from time to time again... I think I'm going to enjoy solo blogging A LOT more! :)

Big hugs,
Alicia

The name "Scout" fits your adorable little puppy. My daughter's golden was named "Bingo". You are a generous blogger.

Congratulations to Donna! And Scout is a wonderful name - I Love "To Kill A Mockingbird"! It's one of those books I read each summer. Ben's name was Bentley Keanu Atticus Eldred. His name was a joint family decision. My daughter Kate is a huge Gregory Peck fan and Eldred is his real first name :-)

Gotta go with our Vizsla ' Tater'. Her full name is 'Sweet Potato Pie' as she's the same color as a sweet potato. We are always looking for the next great doggie name for our future dogs - it's a fun game to play on long car rides. =) Scout's a good one!

Shelley, love your puppy. My name entry is Karma, a tiny Pomapoo with an attitude. She'll nip your butt if you turn your back on her -- great aim for a tiny little leaper (8 lbs).

I swear, all of my dogs have or had human names that were not particularly adorable! That said, let's go with Tristan, who is also know as Captain Wigglebutt.

Busy Bee - I have to tell you that my husband laughed our butts off over your story! He has a mexican rhyme about a kitty that eats beans and gets run over...I'll have to share it w/ you another time!

Thank you everyone for entering! Will announce winners on Monday!!

Mon Chat s'appelait Monsieur L'Houragan du Castab alias Kocio
mais surement trop long pour un chien - et a tu vu un chien qui porte le nom du Cat's!!!

My cat is nommed Mr Houragan of Castab alias Kocio
but probably too long for a dog - and you see a dog that bears the name of Cat's!
