The Loft Project

As my friend Jen at Unglazed would say, I need to get "cracking" on the loft! So far we have carpeted and put a guest bed up there. On our to do list are blinds, furniture (night stand, seating area) and a room divider screen. Our loft is a little over 300 square feet and all open so I wanted to make sure I made good use of the space. The room divider screen will add a little privacy for the guests in the loft and allow me to create a separate seating / reading area. Here are a few that I found:

I found the above room screens at Home Decorators, Black Forest Decor and Target. I'm still on the hunt for more!

Geez - will somebody put some blinds up?

I'll be over to stay as soon as you get that window covered so I am not up at the crack of dawn...what am I saying, I am up at the crack of dawn anyway - unfortunately!! love the wildlife one as well!

I love the bear one. I have 4 tall shudders I was thinking of making into a room divider. They are old, so I do not know how much new ones would cost. You could just paint them any color you like!
Even hang all cute things on them!

Blinds? You don't need no stinking blinds up in the loft. Who's going to look in? The abominable snowman on stilts? Some nice cloth as a drape around the perimeter to soften the edges is all you need.

Love the dividers, though.

great dividers and I like the bear one the best.

Yes, I don't want sun hitting my eyes at 6 in the morning so you need to get those blinds up..

What angle/direction does the room face in the morning.

Love the bear divider! I just bought an old three piece divider from the thrift store and I have some great ideas for it...I hope to start it soon.

I'm not sure about the 1st one, could be made of Oak? The bear one would add a LOT of color. How about a plaid window curtain? I'm curious to see what Penny @ lavender hill studio makes with hers...hmmm, going to go poking around at her blog! :)

First thing is that I trust your flair for interior decoration and whatever you pick will look exceptionally good.

Second thing, and this is based on the comment you left on my blog this morning, and also the picture of yourself at the log cabin show that you posted a few weeks ago, I do not think you look almost 42.

I liked the "oriental" screens because they add a little different flavor! Of course, the bear from Black Forest is great too. I considered a screen for our loft(opening), but had Pat hang a huge curtain rod and drapes. Have only actually closed the drapes once! Not sure I like the appearance now that it's up though.Let me know how you like your screen once you get one.

Terri - still trying to find some screens that would look good in a log cabin but not too themey. :-)

Bobbi - almost ready for you!

Michele - I'll get that window covered right away. I'm an early bird too!

Picket Fence - that sounds nice w/ the shutters - I'd like to see how that turns out.

Joated - you gave me my hardest laugh today! But a lot of sunlight does pour in thru that window - how will bobbi above be able to sleep? LOL

Sandy - I will need to check the sun's angles when I'm up this weekend. you will need to fight bobbi and michele for the room - but there's always the guest room on the main floor.

Penny - now I am excited to see what you do w/ your project!! I'm going to have to wait before I make a purchase!

Denise - Penny has a great blog!

74 - thank you and thank you for outing my age - LOL!!!

Cassie - I'll be sure to let your know what I decide - :-)

Shelley---The bear one is also my fav---but any of them would be fine. I'm sure that whatever you do, it will be WONDERFUL.... Aw--I just want a cabin!!!

Well, you outed your age first over at my place. And I also told you mine, and the best thing about that is I finally caught up with my hair.

And besides I think you look great for being over 29.

Without even you telling us, I know which room divider screen is from Black Forest! I LOVE their stuff but not their prices! Most of their things that appeal to me are a tad pricy. I have found some good buys from them and we are getting our new bedding from them after the first of the year.

Are you going with plantation blinds, mini blinds, roll down shades, shutters...? It takes time (and money) but the planning and dreaming are 1/2 the fun!

I also favor the bear divider. I've been all over Black Forest trying to find towel racks and TP holders. Then when I thought I might like to order my PC messed up...

What I've been finding is that as soon as I make a decision on something...suddenly I find more sites to visit and then I get confused as to which I like best.

Hey, if bobbi's going to sleep the day away...

You know what they say about burning daylight!

The best thing in the world is to be outside in nature's fold when the morning sun is rising and the world comes alive.

Next best thing is to be out and about when the sun is setting with all the colors of a 128 count pack of Crayolas.

Third would be to stand beneath the midnight sky in the middle of a clear winter's night with no moon or street lights to wash the sky and stare up at those millions and millions of tiny points of light. (Add a splash of Aurora borealis and it's heaven.)

If one must sleep, then 10 AM to 2 PM seems about right...unless it's summer and then it's time to either go fishing or canoeing.

What's the song say? "There'll be plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead." (Or something like that.)
