It's going to be a white Christmas!

Our log cabin is located in Gaylord which is known as a snowbelt in northern Michigan. Usually our area winter snowfall totals average about 151 inches for the whole season. Well it's not even mid-December yet and we've already had 70 inches of snowfall! Well, I did always say I wanted a cozy log cabin in the snowy woods. I got my wish!

How's the snowfall in your area?

This was Saturday night when we arrived.

Log cabin in the snowy woods!

Hubby's job - shovel the deck!

Here is downtown Gaylord where I like to shop! Check out those snowbanks.

Here is an image from Otsego Lake State Park where we like to go snow shoeing. Look at all that fresh snow!

It's going to be a white Christmas my friends!

We have an Otsego Lake here in NY, too. Looks like a "noreaster" is bearing down on us, and we are forecast for 6-12 inches of snow o'nite tonight. Snow day tomorrow?

Its beautiful! I wouldnt want all that though. I think right now we are at about 17 inches total for December. Last year we hit almost 100. We are forecast for more snow this weekend to.

Our son lives down the street from us and has a big 4wheeler with a plow on it and he rescues us now. Thats great because hubby has always shoveled. All he has to do now is our little walkway in front and our deck.

Hey Cedar, I live in the fingerlakes of NY too and we have no snow!!!!!
What's up with that? We get just a covering then it is gone. I am waiting for our snow.
Very nice pictures Shelley!!!!!

Oh Shelley, I just love your snow pictures! And of course I'm extremely jealous! We have a forecast for snow & ice on Monday & Tuesday. I'll take the snow, but no thank you to ice! It's been a year since Oklahoma had a devastating ice storm, hopefully it won't be a repeat performance.
Smiles,
Carol

Betsy wants you to send some of that snow our way -- we've only had a fraction of an inch so far. Now that it's snowing in New Orleans she's really upset about our lack of snow. Even I think a white Christmas would be nice.

Hope our southern friends are enjoying this unusual blast of snow...Here in the Cincinnati/N KY area, winter weather advisories have gone up til noon for freezing rain.

As far as NY, yeah I'd bet on a snow day tomorrow up there. Half a foot of snow + ice = closed schools for sure. 1`

We've alternated between the freezing cold, snow, and sloppy sleet this past week. We've seen it all in NW suburban Chicago.

I think snow is beautiful but I like it in about 3-4 inch amounts at a time. I like the ground covered but not buried deep beneath a ton of snow. Snow creates a beautiful picture with your cabin!

151 inches-WOW!
It sounds like your chances of a white Christmas are on your side.

Shelley ~ Just Beautiful.....I cant wait to get some snow !!! This time of year everything looks
so much prettier covered in snow. And a White Christmas is what I always want. My hubby has to shovel the deck also, we need to get to the wood and the grill...we use it all year round.
Keep Warm and Cozy !!!
Hugs ~ Connie xox
PS ~~ My hubby plows and sands so I have another reason to like and want snow...$$$ lol

What great pictures. Ever since I moved to coastal Delaware where we have very little snow I have been saying how much I like snow. I don't remember liking it that much when I lived in Pennsylvania where we had quite a bit of snow. Your cabin looks so snug and welcoming.

So beautiful, shame you have to put up with the cold with it. Wouldn't it be great if we could have this and decent temps?

Very Pretty! We are finally getting some snow, but it may turn into ICE tonight...I hope not.

This is what our place usually looks like by now - so strange - we have had unusually warm temps. It is kinda crazy... today I woke up and all the snow melted in the night!! Now I hear it is suppose to be negative 10 this weekend!! Maybe we will get some snow.

Wow, you have a beautiful place and it looks really good with all of your new snow too. This weekend we will be getting our first consistently below freezing temperatures with the possibility of some snow too. So winter is just about to begin for us on the Washington state coast.

Oooh, I'm jealous of all that snow. We don't get a great deal of snow in southeastern Ohio, but we've had a few dustings so far, and one weekend we even got a little over 1" of snow. Woo hoo! I'll vicariously enjoy the Michigan snow through your blog.
