My Diabolical Plan

I got a new bird feeder for the log cabin! (I know, like my 10 other feeders weren't enough!) But I have a plan you see. If I provide enough food and good company (I'm the good company) then they will STAY HERE and NEST IN MY BIRDHOUSES and have lots of BIRD BABIES for me to see and adore! Good plan - huh?!

As soon as Greg hung the feeder, the Chickadee was investigating it right away!

Guess who else discovered my new bird feeder?

I'm heading to the Michigan Aububon Society's Conference this weekend where I'll be speaking about Birding and Blogging. (Do you think they want to hear about log cabins too? Probably not....) I will catch up with all of you later this weekend!

Hopefully your plan will work and you'll have lots of birds to observe this spring. You obviously have a very observant squirrel. I know you'll do well at the conference.

You certainly have a thing for birdfeeders, don't you?! LOL - So do I. Except I only have one. I'm going to have to take your example and start collecting. Gorgeous pic of the chick!

Wow! Another one of your talents...speaking. I wish you the best this weekend. I love your first picture with the bird house and the chickadee. It looks like a professional photo.

Hmmmm....I think Marvin likes the new bird feeder, too. Maybe you're an unwitting participant in his diabolical plan! ;-)

Have a great weekend, and enjoy the conference!

I had forgot about you going to be speaking. Good luck, take that humor with you that you have in your blog all the time.

I agree with keeping them there. My bird population in Rockwood left me while I was on vacation. Only the Sapsucker is right where he was, but that is because he doesn't eat from the feeders anyway.

Great looking feeder! It's not surprising that the chickadee would be there first. The are nosy little buggers and were probably watching while the feeder was being hung.

What a lovely picture of the chickadee. I've not seen one before, they are really pretty.

Those squirrels don't miss a trick do they?

Nice feeder and great photo of the chickadee, what a beautiful little bird. We don't see those here in the high desert area of California. I've been intrigued with the black squirrels you have there, we don't have them here either. We do have cute little gray ones like this guy though. Thanks for sharing and best wishes to you on your speaking engagement.

Hmmmm, I will have to ask my Brother Ray if he is going to the conference. He is the President of the Washtenaw Audubon Society. He blogs about birds as well. I have let him know about your birding blog. You can check out his site via the link on my blog.

Have a great time this weekend! Love the new bird feeder too!

You always take the most beautiful photos. I used to feed birds but discovered that the rats were eating the feed at night after we went to sleep. Then I found at that the raccoons were eating the bird's eggs and then we had coyotes and bobcats suddenly appear in the area because of all of the new wildlife they could now pick off! And they put our cats in danger, so I had to stop. :( What a debbie-downer comment, huh?!

Keep those pics coming!

What a super feeder. May I ask where you got it? Love those chickadees and your photos terrific as usual. Sharon
Ps I just purchased some nesting boxes from the Audobon Soc. Not sure where or how high to place them. Any help would be so appreciated.
