Last of the photos

I just realized I've taken thousands of photos of our log home. Here is the last of them. Some of these you may have already seen before. Our place is still a work in progress and my next projects include landscaping, finishing the basement and completing the loft furnishings. Oh - and getting a real LIVE dog to put in there! Greg - if you're reading this - get ready!

P.S. Each Thursday for the rest of April, I am going to draw a name out of my followers and send them a SURPRISE GIFT from my nature store. So you get ready too!

Here's the loft freshly carpeted. Looks like a great place for a party!

My moose themed bathroom.

I don't know who is going to change those light bulbs!

Can you picture Scarlett O'hara coming down these stairs? ha,ha!

Here's our log cabin before it was stained.

We stained it with a medium red-tone brown. The darker stains last longer - approximately 5 - 6 years.

This year we'll be able to stain our deck. This is my observation point to check on all my neighbors. Seriously.

Marvin has requested a window seat. We'll see....

How exciting a time that must have been to see your dream of a cabin come true. I must say that Marvin has the right idea,.. a window seat to curl up on and watch the rain, snow or sunrise,... yes!

I just love looking at your pictures.

Well, Betsy from TN, we don't have just flurries, we have actual snow! Snowing and blowing and covering the ground! My mom lives in TN I should call her and find out if she has snow.

Hey Shelley! nice photos, of course. BTW we stained our deck with a sprayer - very simple!! In fact we do it every few years, only takes a few hours and our deck is not small, wraps around 3/4 of the house and is 8 feet out - so it will not be as big of a chore as you thought!

Love the cabin. Love everything about it. Makes me so antsy I CAN'T STAND IT!

Now how is Marvin going to react to a dog?

And I'll bring the cheeze whiz.

We are staining the logs right now. We have been here 19 years, time sure goes fast. Our colors are the same as yours. Our logs are hand hewned so require lots of sanding this years :-(. But it will look great when finished. Sharon

Shelley,

I really enjoyed this virtual tour and the construction history, too. I hope you continue to post more photos through out your forthcoming projects (landscaping, loft furnishing etc.). They're all great!

- John

P.S. The red exterior stain was an excellent choice, IMHO!

Each room...so cozy...so inviting...so beautifully put together. I do not think I would leave to go anywhere if I lived there. I really enjoyed seeing how it came together for you. You both did an outstanding job.

Love your photos and especially like the runner in the hall! It's almost a perfect match for the rugs at my place.

Three years ago this week the foundation was poured and the first floor deck constructed at my place. The log package arrived on April 19, 2006 and we moved in in time for Christmas. And, yes, it's been a work in prgress indoors and out ever since.

Hope you will stop by my blog. I am a new blogger. This is my second month in the world of BLOG. I am great give away this month. This drawing will be the last day of April.
Every comment you leave throughout the month will enter your name in the drawing. This NEW blogger was so touched by all the comments I got on the Blog Party Give Away,(over 300) that I decided to make this a monthly GIFT...
Also, if you mention blog telling about the monthly giveaway, you will have your name entered 10 extra times...Just be sure and let me know that you did. How is that for an incentive?
I was so blown away by all the responses that I wanted to email each person personally... I did love reading all of them..I am continuing to introduce my family members. In May, there will be some fun blogs coming from Disney World with the grandkids. I hope to blog every night, in case you like a good trip report. And there will also be a great Disney giveaway.
I am so thankful for all my new friends.
