Log Home Staining
Greg and I are debating on another layer of stain for our log home. We had 2 coats put on last year of the Transformation Stain from Sashco. We used the medium red-tone brown. This particular stain does not require a sealer. Greg is gung ho to get scaffolding, sprayers and throw on another coat. We'll inspect it this weekend and make a decision. (But I'm not getting on a ladder Greg! I'll be too busy playing with my puppy and catering to our kitty Marvin.)
Speaking of Marvin, have you ever seen a cat sleep on his back like this?
Or like this?! What a rough life he has....
P.S. I'll be gone this weekend with limited access to the Internet but I'll be sure to catch up with you on Monday. By the way, I get to visit my puppy girl on Monday. I think I'm going to have to have some sort of giveaway to celebrate....stay tuned...I'm thinking hard....

Marvin sleeps exactly like Bella...everything sprawled to the wind! LOL! You're so right...what a life!
Enjoy your weekend away! Give that fur baby of yours lots of lovin'!
I had a calico cat that used to sleep like that. So weird!
Love the pictures.

Mr. Marvin sure knows how to relax! How adorable. My daughters cat GiGi (Douggie) sleeps like that. He is deaf and completely relaxed! Its so cute to see them enjoying the sunshine.
My sister's cat always slept on her back only, she would have all four legs up in the air. It just fascinates me as to why they do what they do. Hope you have a great weekend at the cabin. How do you think Marvin will react to the puppy?
Marvin's pictures are sooo cute it almost looks like how my cat sleeps!!! Anyway I hope you have had a wonderful week!!
Love, Madison
My daughter's cats both sleep sprawled on their backs. Isn't it funny?
We put one stain on the first year and then the second year put the 2nd one on...the south side of our house gets a lot of sun, so we wanted to protect it more. We don't use spray though, we use the old fashioned brushes.
Sometimes our dogs sleep that way~ animals know whats comfy! Enjoy the show and I hope you do well.
Is the giveaway the new puppy? Probably not....but if it is, sign me up. ;)
I would say Marvin is very, very comfortable in his home(s). NOT a care in the world!!
I say the stain on the house looks great...I think Gregg is asking for trouble! :)
You know the phrase, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!
Marvin is such a ham! *lol* My cat Tabitha curls up till it looks like she;s sleeping on her head. Animals are so much fun to watch.
I think the cabin looks nice. Aren't you suppose to re-stain them every so often???
Good luck this weekend. Have fun!
Debbie
If all you have to do is put stain on, then I say go for it. If it means you have to power-wash it down first, then I'd say think again. That is the creepy part.
Have a great weekend.
Thanks for the comment I like him to!! I will sooo miss you!!
And I know that I will have a blast at my aunts house!!! Have a great week!!!
Love, Madison
Yep, our Bambi sleeps the same way. She makes me sleepy watching her! She is so spoiled!
I just love seeing pictures of your log cabin! Have a fun weekend!
Tammy
isn't funny how animals love to lay in the sun spots inside the house? marvin's days of lounging in the sun will soon be over - that puppy will plummel him down there! He will be a HIGH rise cat soon.
Have a fun weekend. We are in the middle once again of staining our three story log home. We use perma chink and love it. But maintenance never ends with logs. Kiss puppy for me and my 26 lb. cat sleeps that way. She looks like a beached whale..... Sharon
Everytime I come to your blog I'm giggling these days. Your new profile picture of your little puppy is soo adorable!!! Those pictures of Marvin are so sweet. I hope he and the new puppy have a wonderful relationship with one another. Marvin looks like he doesn't stress much about anything :>) I think I need to take some hints from him....
Oh I am jealous of your cabin. It is so beautiful. I think every cat I had slept like Marvin. Hope you have a relaxing weekend at the cabin even if you do end up putting on another coat.
Hi Shelley, Good Luck this weekend. I know you will enjoy yourself and do GREAT!!!!!!
The cabin looks great to me--but you two know what needs to be done.
Wonder how Marvin is going to like the new puppy???????
Hugs,
Betsy
What does Marvin think of a new puppy joining the family? I'm not sure he'll be able to enjoy as many naps with a puppy around. Your cabin looks great to me. Is Greg bored?
No, I've never seen a cat sleep like that. But my Mother's dog sleeps on his back with all of his legs slicking straight up into the air.
Ha! Love those pictures of Marvin! We had a cat who would do basically the same thing, right next to the patio door, in a sun beam. Gots to keep them bellies warm!
Our (no longer with us) cat Chuck used to sprawl on his back like that too. Hootie (the WelshTerrier) does a similar pose...looks like the ultimate in relaxation! I think our cabin definately needs another coat now...the railings are looking taddy and the deck floor is down to the bare wood. ugh.
Looks like Marvin likes warm sunshine on his tummy! Waiting for more pics of the puppy baby,... I'm so glad you are getting her!
Dang Shelley Country Husband has been working my fanny off with yard work and I have missed these wonderful blog posts here at your cabin. Marvin, be still my heart. I have always wanted a kitty that was comfy on it's back!
I am the ladder person in our family, CH is afraid of heights!
My Bubbie is prettier than your Marvin...hahaha I hope you realize I am totally joking...I found your blog after seeing where you, Betsy and Leedra got together.
Anyway, I have not had time to really check it out, but I did notice your picture with Marvin...come check out my blog and click on the label Bubbie. They are very similiar in looks and the way they sleep.
