Northern Michigan at its best

There are many beautiful places to build a log home. Northern Michigan was the place for me and Greg. We wanted to experience all 4 seasons and be located out in a woodsy - nature filled area. It seems like we do more up here too then when we are downstate at our home in the burbs. Up here we are going to small town festivals, berry picking, skiing, snow shoeing, going out to photograph nature, watching Eagles splash down in our lake, having a bonfire with neighbors....the list goes on. Also - where else could I be a Loon Ranger?! (Now that's a different story and my friends and family are still making fun of me for this....)

Here are some more fall photos around our log home.......life is good.

I love fall colors and you certainly captured them in these photos. I wish we had more "seasons" out here in So Cal.

Ok, I'm convinced it's time to go north!

Ahhh, fall folliage. Up here in far north Idaho it's golden and orange. Not so much of the flaming reds. Beautiful pictures.

Beautiful! I grew up on Hiland Lake in Michigan and remember how beautiful the fall trees reflected off the lake. I miss my childhood!

Shelley, Your photo of the fall colors reflected in the lake perfectly captures Michigan's autumn splendor!! How about framing that one and adding it to your interior decorations? ~Michele

Wow absolutely stunning pic's. We don't have the fall colors yet here in Arkansas but soon will. I love reading about your log home and I really enjoyed the pic's of the switch covers. We live in a mobil home So I really enjoy your pic's cause I love log cabins. Thanks Linda (Tangeld Mane Ranch)

That view of the pond is magnificent. I totally agree with Michele that you should frame it and add it to the art work on your walls. Perhaps you should do a series of all 4 seasons and add it to the entertainment room in the basement? Just a thought, but the photography of that one pic just calls out for framing.
