Shelley, this is absolutely hilarious. Since the Lions hired our Tennessee Titans coordinator, perhaps you won't have to wait until the temperature reaches -100!!

LOL - notice you didn't make fun of your Tennessee blogging buddies. Or I thought not until I started reading George's comment. I am not a sports fan at all. Who is playing in the Super Bowl?

It's true about the Californians. 50 degrees is bone chilling for a lot of them. It really funny to experience. I'm excited because I get to go there next week and smile a lot.

I loved this, Shelley. I about lost it when I read that last line and I'm reading it at 2am and both my boys are asleep not a good combo but this is absolutely hysterical and on some levels so true.

That is a hoot! I've seen a similar one about life and temperatures here in the Adirondacks. It's humor like that helping us to get through the winter! thanks!

That is great! I needed a good laugh this early and COLD morning!

I had to laugh, especially over the first one in Texas! There is a bit of truth to that! As you know, we just got home from our Winter in Yellowstone vacation. The weather was balmy for us when we got back and these clowns down here were acting like we were in the deep freeze. Whatever!

My Hub's family is from Michigan (Travers City & Remus) so I might have to steal that and send it to his Aunt!

Dear Shelly,

I really hate to be a pedantic pain in the butt (everyone says I am), but absolute zero actually occurs at -459 degrees F, whereas your posting states -60 degrees F.

Please feel free to discreetly reject this comment outright (I would've emailed you, instead, if I knew your email). I will not be in anyway offended!

But I felt I just had to warn you of the error before some other jerk, even more obnoxious and pedantic than myself, decided to tell you the same! :-)

All that said, this posting is really, really, really funny!!!

- John

Glad you all got a chuckle out of this! Betsy - I won't be licking the flag pole - I did see that movie "Christmas Story" and saw what happened with that! ha,ha!
And John, I don't mind the correction - I got this joke from a friend of mine - so I'll be sure to CORRECT her! LOL!

This is a GREAT POST! And so true!

I am laughing so hard the tears are rolling down my cheeks. Will definately have to pass this on to my friends and family.

The part about the Girl Scout's going door to door to sell cookies is right on....I bought 6 boxes just yesterday from my neighborhood Girl Scouts. YUM, can't wait to taste those Thin Mints!

As a former Northern Michigander who enjoys reading your blog, I really liked your list. Thanks for the laugh!

This could work for Northern Illinois, too. It's all about perspective. Very funny.
