Early Spring at the Log Cabin?

"If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies.” - Nadine Stair

I really think I'm beginning to see signs of an early spring at our log cabin. Maybe it's wishful thinking but I submit the following as evidence.

My Black-capped Chickadees have been investigating the nest boxes I set up.

The creek has gotten wider.

Our lake ice is starting to break up.

And Baby has asked me where the patio furniture is. Psst! Jen - Baby says hello!

It's no surprise living in Texas, that some of the trees are beginning to bud and that the daffodils down the street are in their blooming glory! Spring is lovely but doesn't last nearly long enough! We go from Spring to Summer in about 3 weeks! BLECH!

Baby is TOO cute!

What a cute squirrel!!

I'm so ready for spring! I'm still trying to clean out from the huge ice storm of 3 weeks ago - we had no electricity for 8 days! I lost several large trees. :(

Brrrrr---doesn't look like spring to me up there yet.. There's still alot of snow around...BUT--maybe it will gradually melt!!!! You obviously know the signs!!!!

We have some daffodils popping up along with some crocus and hyacinths.. That's our signs of spring!!!!

Has your Baby got a 'thing' for one of Jen's squirrels????? I've got some old gray ones here --if you want to introduce Baby to them. Well--on the other hand, I guess we have enough squirrels (pests) here... ha ha

Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Love your quote by Nadine Stair. As I get older the list of things I'd do more of, or do differently, grows longer. Guess I'd better get busy doing them. Love the pictures. -Sandy

Oh you've done it now...I don't want Spring Fever yet, well actually I got some in WalMart today.
Tell Baby if he doesn't want to come here in that box, I am willing to get him a plane ticket; coach of course.

Dawnie - shall I call you the GRINCH of spring?! LOL!!

Pam - thank you - I'm trying to improve!

Dawn - I checked the extended forecast at the cabin - it's suppose to snow wed, thurs and friday. Um...I guess I'll hold off on that patio furniture. Drats!

Brandi - I love the 4 seasons - just wish winter was 1 month shorter!

Screen Door - I'm amazed at the Chickadee's resilience!

bobbi - sorry to hear you lost some trees! And 8 days of no electricity?! Poor thing!!

Betsy - I'm envious to hear of all those flowers you have! Baby squirrel is looking for warmer weather!

Sandy - I just found this quote and it really reminded me of more things I want to do before I leave this earth. Glad you liked it!

Jen - Baby says to send the plane tickets. But i would like him back come June.

I wish I could see some signs of spring here, but I haven't seen a thing. We had a little snow again last night and today the wind is blowing. But before long I will be complaining about the heat!! lol

Here in Connecticut, we had about six weeks of consistent, sub-freezing temperatures and a lot of snow. Now, it's just a little warmer! Saturday was a veritable spring day. But now temps are dropping again.

Nice to see "Baby" still visiting you!

I guess spring is closer...we have had a mild winter, so I know we will get a big storm this spring. Loved the eagle picture.

Do you think it might be wishful thinking on your part. I was sweeping my front walk thinking the same thing. I think there is a liitle snow in our forecast. A girl can dream can't she!

By the time I get back to Powell River next week I will have been away for over two weeks. I wonder what I will find. We have no snow, but my signs will need to be the plants and birds. I hope there are some good signs. - Margy

That little chickadee is so cute! Did you pass their inspection or will you have to redecorate for their nesting needs? :>)
