Escaping from Winter

Enough of being stranded in the log cabin. Today we are going to escape from the winter blues. Hurry up, let's get in the boat! Any boat!

Okay, let's pretend it's 78 degrees with a light breeze. We are sailing across Lake Michigan and the water is fairly calm.

We've been sailing for several hours. Can you see the lighthouse from our boat? It's probably time to head back.

Now let's go have some fish & chips! How does that sound?

P.S. Whose boat was that anyways?!

Isn't escaping and dreaming fun to do? That platter of food looked so good to me...especially at this time of the evening when it is soon time for dinner. Do you go boating in the summer? My brother-in-law has a boat and on rare occasions we go with him. It happens to be something we love to do!

Your photos certainly do help me forget about the really cold and snowy winter we're having here in New Hampshire! Your blog is a great resource.

What a fun post,... I've been sailing a few times when vacationing on Cape Cod and in Maine. It is a wonderful experience. Thanks for the bit of summer and refreshing the memories!

Wow Shelley, I loved that day on Lake Michigan. I'm sure those people didn't miss their boat, ya think????? ha ha..

You know me.. I'm the one who wanted to see that lighthouse.. I like lighthouses ALMOST as much as I do waterfalls (well, not really, but I do like them!!)... ha

The fish and chips dinner was delicious also. AND to think, I ate alot and didn't gain a pound!!! How 'bout that?

Now--I hate to tell you this, but now you are STUCK in that log cabin. How can that be????? I feel SO sorry for you. NOT!!!! ha

Thanks for the journey.
Hugs,
Betsy

Just a few more months! We saw a lighthouse so similar to that one when we vacationed in Mackinaw City years ago. I wonder if it was the same one.

We boat in the summer here on the Mononghela river and there is nothing better then stopping along the way and finding something to eat:)

This has NOTHING to do with your post.

Today Dave & I went down to the Dallas Convention Center for the Log Home Expo. We were SOOOOO disappointed!!!! They canceled but we didn't know about it. As recent as last night when I was on the website checking for times, it still showed it for this weekend. We were VERY unhappy! At least for us, it was only a 35 minute drive. We ran into another couple just like us, only they had driven up from Houston, 5 hours away! GRR!! Apparently it's been rescheduled for Sept. I'm so miffed though, I might boycott it!

Oh yeah, how is YOUR weekend? Ha Ha

I would go boating with you in 78* weather right now!!!! And I would definitely stop and have fish and chips too. Haven't had any for so long (can't find anywhere in my town that serves it).
